Ok guys...hers the next installment on the Deuce project... Spent the better part of a week sanding the primed chassis down prepping it for paint. Mixing up the color took ages to get just the right shade....not too dirty in the blue, bot not too green as in turquoise . I went with a COB system...laid on two coats of color and 4 clear coats today....its drying as I type this. Id appreciate some feedback on the color from u paint guys....it not too different from the primer color I had before, but well, I dunno, to me its maybe a bit on the green side still ???... Or maybe my eyes are screwing me or Ive breathed in too many fumes....what do ya'll say ? Next step is to paint the front and rear axle - a nice dark red color. Rat
Steering box mount looked goofy, until I checked your address. Will the body color be the same? Looks nice to me, I also like the crossmember work.
I like the color. But using red along with that blue sounds like a visual trainwreck. With that blue, I would stick to white, black, and chrome.
I'm gonna side with Haring. Red axles would not look right to me with that color. The blue is a good choice but Too much red with it wouldn't look right (just my opinion). You might be able to get away with red wheels but an off white or cream color would look nice. Clark
i have to agree with the others red would look like a big zit on a super model. i would go with an off white or old english white for the axles and other drive line parts
Hi Guys, I have to agree, I'd be going with cream, off white, chrome etc. The blue is all class and matching it with a red might be too much of a clash? Danny
Well....upon relection, im not so sure that I like the color...looks too green and too "plastic" if you know what I mean. Too 80's....not "early" enough. IMHO....I think Im gonna stick with the flat baby blue primer I has it in before I painted it. Its actually greener than it looks in the pix. Rat
Like this....can u guys see the diff ? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB1&Number=427760&Forum=CatSearch-1&Words=Progress%20pix&Match=Title&Searchpage=0&Limit=25&Old=allposts&Main=427751&Search=true#Post427760
like it. Don't stress, to many thinners on the brain. NO red suspension(or anything, White (or black/chrome/silver) is my suggestion, which I believe will bring it back to a more '60's look. Think big picture. Looks great. Cheers, Drewfus
Drewfus...I know what you are saying re the BIG picture....but believe me, this color does'nt do the car justice. I don't feel that when the body is painted that it's gonna look better....too much green in it for my liking. Thats how I felt about when we mixed it and at the time I thought it was just me being "seeing" it wrong. But now that I've laid it on my fears have been confirmed....it IS too green for me. Don't get me wrong, its a nice color...but just not what I was after that's all. I'm shooting for more of a mid/late 50's look...I've seen a few of rides Stateside that have a similar red/blue/white combo and I think the look is right on. Looks like Psychobilly Boi and I have a bit of sanding to do ......... !! Rat
1. Agree, preffer the primer 'colour' 2. Compare apples with apples, when it's dry, stick the frame outside in the sunlight and then compare. 3. Will trust your judgement on the red, although I don't agree. White or creame...anr BMW metallic grey, with matching T&Roll.... 4.If your not happy now, then you won't be happy regardless how good it 'actually' looks. More rubbing, more dust, more itch's to scratch, but will be worth it in the end... Cheers, Drewfus

Yeah iyt s"looks" fantastic and the finish is real sano.....BUT IMO the color is too far on the green side for my liking. Was up until 1.00 am sanding last nite .......nearly ready for a another ht this weekend.... My fingerprints are gone ...... Rat
