yep... it's the PBR cans strewn about that shut the whole thing down I think I'm going to start my own new Paso tradition. I will stop in Paso on the way to Santa Maria to take a dump in the restroom at the upstairs bar of the Paso Robles Inn. I think it would be a fitting tribute to a cool little town that kicked us in the sack.
My girlfriend used to be super cool and horny all the time--but I don't sit around and lament about it constantly. Instead, I use the restroom for unintended purposes and just deal with the way things are now. Replace "girlfriend" with Paso and "restroom" with Santa Maria...same difference, sorta.
No, 49ratfink, it wasn't the litter. PBR is offensive to the refined tastes of the enological community.
Cruiser.... I did see that 1979 Dodge "VIPER" in there (they said '79 and older cars!). That show looks pretty much like the Good Guys shows almost anywhere you go! My first Paso was back in 1983 and my last 2003.... 20 years of bliss. All good things come to an end!
Bandkok Dean for background on what happened in Paso, use the HAMB search engine and search Paso city council. This will bring you up to date on the past. CRUISER
Thanks, I did check it out after receiving your PM. All I can say is what a shame but I still have my memories of the first WCK events there. I wonder if any one has pictures of the first years gathering at Paso? Would love to see cars like the Jade Idol again.
this is not a rat i know jason and i know the car .. he is just work on othere cars thats why its not done yet!!!
I have pictures from the 3rd show on and videos of real early shows. I'd be happy to e-mail you stuff if you would like! PM me.
I had my little roadster, 38 plymouth and 66 t-bird all there(sold the bird at the show).. The roadster only holds 5 gallons.. They were not going to let me bring the roadster but I brought it anyway and they were a bit snotty about it..It should be done by the next major show.. It will be painted....It was a cookie cutter yawn of a show but it is the guys like this that keep my 4 employees and me working.. Here are some pics of mine and a couple customer cars... Jason...
Very cool Jason............."Remember, money talks and bull shit walks" Keeping the green rolling in in Morro Bay, Ca. So, these types of shows are good for something after all. The roadster is looking so cool my friend. See you when I'm back in a couple of weeks. CRUISER
I went through all of those pictures(YAAAWWWWWWWWWN) and didn't see one of my roadster?????????? Its got paint on it so it can,t be that bad. Maybe its 'cause I didn't park with the other " street rods " like I was supposed to. (they had us park according to make and model) The show wasn't much, but they thought it was great. It was free to enter, oops, forgot to give them a donation. Paso ain't gonna be what it was , so remember the good times and move on.
that's the best shit i've seen all year who needs traditional when you can have billet and street rods lol
Close, but no cigar. There was that OTHER guy with the camaro, not his own, I think it was his brothers wifes camaro coz the shop ran out of Rent-a-Camaros while he was paying them to work on his own camaro. Yeah, he won.
I agree with old Gringo.. it's 89 all over again, before the Traditional Hot Rod invasion. RIP Paso it was good while it lasted, I will never go back there again, Viva Santa Maria! I can't wait for next year...
