Streetneat Intro

Discussion in 'New to the H.A.M.B.? Introduce yourself here!' started by streetneat, Aug 2, 2008.

  1. Damn I hope I havent screwed this up already by postin elsewhere first! I read ya sticky and this place sounds fine by me.

In short I have owned and operated a small Panel shop in Brisbane Australia since 1992. I have been building cars ever since - mostly for myself when possible - and huge amount for clients.
That's all about to end now- gettin out while the gettin's good. The family and I are being squeezed outta of over 40 years existence here by property developers - so time for a change- a ****** big change! Yep we are jumpin the ditch and heading to New Zealand.

I'm taking four cars - My Radical Custom 1958 FC Holden Coupe, ( was a 4 door sedan)My severely chopped 1962 EK Holden sedan Delivery ( unfinished - was a panel van), My 1971 383 Chev powered HG Holden Ute ( do I have to explain here what a Ute is?) and My 2005 Holden VZ SSZ Crewman Ute- the family truckster.

I have been involved with major body work for over 20 years - its easier to send you to my website instead of me rabbiting on here - www.streetneat.com. Hopefully I haven't pissed anyone off by posting my site up - I'm sure the torch wielding lynch mobs are on the way

As long as its oxy torches - then we will have something in common.

    That's me...
    Cheers streetneat-Andrew.

so who are you when at home X38?

    Cheers- Andrew -streetneat.

I believe you would know a mate of mine Craig Borthwick. My car is my avatar at the left there.

  5. Geez Andrew... it's going to take a lot more Aussies heading to New Zealand before we balance out the numbers! ;)

Sad that you're going, but NZ has a very cool car culture, so I'm sure you'll fit right in. Will we still see some of your stuff in Street Machine magazine?

  6. Hmmmmm... this interweb leaves us guessing who's who at the zoo... I Think I know your 32 - and Craig's name rings some faint bells. Problem is in my field- more Folk know me than I know them. It don't matter- all good.
    Cheers streetneat-Andrew.

  7. Once again - I think I know who ya are - another Journo for Streetmachine. I hope to continue with my journo work for SM there as well - time will tell.
I'm not sad about goin- quite the opposite I'm looking forward to escaping the rat race of Brisvegas- 1500 folk move here every week- somethings gotta give way!

Damn - yer onto my deficit drive - they've all moved over here -so lots of spare beds over there! The car culture is the major draw card- the Kiwis really know how to have fun with their cars.

Are we allowed to point out here the sheep are also prettier in NZ?

    Cheers streetneat -Andrew.

Craig is my go-to electrics guy at Automotive Harnesses.

  9. Welcome and I hope to catch up with you one day.
Gotta watch those people from the Naki! They are real friendly and some nice cars down there too!
I remember your custom when it was gold.....

    Welcome fella.
Hope you enjoy the car scene in NZ, where the Yank tanks still have the steering wheel on the left side. We like 'em like that.

  12. Thanks guys- sorry about the delayed response- sorta busy here winding down one life and getting ready for the next.
I'm most definitely looking forward to getting over to NZ - only 5 weeks to go now! I am lucky enough to have purchased a run down farm in Waingaro in the North Island- I am obviously gunna be busy with getting that sorted initially.

Right now I am flat out finishing off one of my Projects (my HG Ute) so I can pack it away in its 40 foot suitcase.

Keep yer eyes peeled for the Blue FC Coupe Marauding the hills of Ngaruawahia district around Xmas....

Sounds like you are on the way and not to far south of us auckland based folks too, there are quite alot of Rodders living Rural just south of the Bombays these days. Handy to some great hot springs too.
PM me if you need a hand in Auckland.

    Paul
