This is a bit off, but it's still more relevant than not...

What's the best way to straignten that crappy plastic shit they use for bumpers on new cars...??? Also, does that stuff need a special body filler...???

I'm fixing a dent for a friend of mine (read: "dumb-ass") who smacked a pole in a parking lot, and straightening the metal isn't the problem for me, but the car has one of those lame plastic front ends like everything these days... It seems rather flexible, so what should I do to return it to shape...???

Also, what kind of body filler do you guys recommend...???

Sumo, don't tell me to buy that "Tiger-Pubes" shit or whatever it is...

    thanks...

Use a heat gun or hair dryer. Better yet if you have a hot tub crank it up to hottest setting, toss the bumper cover in overnight, works ! That stuff has memory, will go back to original shape with a little heat. Been a few years but you gotta use a special 2 part filler made for these bumpers, good auto supply that sells paint should have it. Have to use flex agent in paint, special primer. At least thats the way it worked 15 yrs ago when I did my last one, repair on a Firebird. Good luck! [IMG]

That's right on about the heat gun to work the damage out ..if it's just bent ..use a good heat heat gun I found a hair dryer wouldn't work ..and the two part flex filler to bondo up what won't straighten...pretty much all paints have a flex agent in them now when mixed and catlysed.....fatchuk
