Hot Rods Calori roadster back on the ground almost ready

    Rolled it out today since being on jack stans for 5 months. Wiped it off and cleaned the chrome . Since last seen in pics i have got all the chrome done the wish bones,drag link,pitman arm ,side plates.got the front licince box on with gl*** in front and also in the rear .what i have left is plumb brakes, wireing and put fuilds and start it up. Hers some pics i took today. Keep you guys that follow my car updated.billy

    for now no. i have front brakes but i need to chrome the backing plates. billy

    what you see is black epoxy primer . i still need to do more body work when i'm done it will be black lacquer.billy

    49ratfink ... you are probably familar with Jack Calori's chopped '36 3wd (with '39 LaSalle grille & molded '40 Chevy headlights) that appeared on the cover of the Novermber 1949 issue of Hot Rod Magazine:

    Anyway, Jack was a lakes racer ... and originally bought the '36 to tow his ’29 hi-boy to the lakes ... HELLMET's car is a re-creation of the Jack Calori lakes roadster.

    thanks HEMI32. didn't know he had a roadster as well. I kinda figured there was a connection.

    Hey helmet,
    Absolutely love the car man!......gotta question. what was used on the split bones as a tie rod end? Ive seen it before in old mags but never knew what they were of of, I like to use 'em on my model A. It flows with the wishbone so nicely. .........this question isnt just to hellmet ifn any yall other HAMBers could enlighten it would be much abliged!

    I am torn, between the roadster and the chopped coupe. WOW!!

    Im right there with ya highboy that coupe is gorgeous but that roadster is bad news!....calori had the right idea early on....the coupe for gettin the girls, and the roadster for splittin!
