Sorry it took so long to get these posted. For the whole story, do a search for my post titled "almost shook the hand of doom".
Holy shit, Bruce...you said it was a mess, but that sucks big time! Even though it wasn't your fault, good luck with the bullshit that comes along with it.
OOOOOOOOOH! I was just admiring the first two photos and saved them and then.................. Oh man, sorry to see that happen.
I had no idea that truck looked so good, first time I've seen photos of it. The fact that you got out of it ok is more amazing now that we see how it looked. Hope the rebirth is underway.
Oh I'm sure the culprit is walking around freely and will never see another night in jail over this. It's unfortunate how our judicial system works sometimes. She could have easily killed you or someone else! That's a testament to a good build because the truck stayed together... even thought you flew out the door! Seatbelts in the next one? Glad you're okay. I wish you the very best of luck getting reimbursed.
im dealing with the legal shit now. goin to her court hearing this week. unfortunatly the DWI laws in ct pretty much suck! 1st offense is usually a slap on the wrist. and oh yeah, i forgot to mention, she has no insurance. ill keep you all posted. thanks.
My son was hit by a drunk. March of 2006. Spun him 180 degrees in the road with a quarter panel hit from the side. Convicted the clown after two years of delays etc. 7 days with work release and 2 years probation. We're still waiting to see if we get the restitution we requested. Do hope you have some patience.
Has the Chevy wagon been in your avitar all along or did you just add it? I'm bad on names but always remember cars and faces, didn't know the pickup was yours.
damn bro sorry to see that and read that. i know its probably your baby. but it seems like you came out ok, i hope. my aunt, uncle, grandmother, and there two kids were hit head on by a drunk driver out side of Tucson back in the early 70's they all got busted up pretty bad but my aunt got the worst of it. the drunks car hit hem so hard it ripped right of its mount and went right through the cab and crushed her. she has been in a wheel chair ever since. i know i am gonna get alot of crap for saying this but the drunk that hit was decapitated in the accident. as far as the family is concerned he got what he deserved. turned out it wasn't his first time, being in a head on while drunk. he could of killed all of them cause they were in a cab of a pickup truck my aunt was sitting in the middle. a lady who was like a grandmother to us was killed by a drunk driver. he ran a stop sign and crushed the hole driver side of her car. she was crushed into the pass side. and the piece of sh!!%& crawled out his truck and walked home. he never served a day in prison all i can say is always drive on the defence and make sure you have uninsured motorist coverage. . sorry if i rattled on but i hate to hear this, and read that they get away with it.
If she doesn't have insurance, go after posessions- sorry to sound cruel, but if she's going to be that irresponsible, she might need a "wakeup call"...
Damn, way too many accidents in hot rods around here lately. I'm still battling the insurance company to settle on my own from June. Glad to hear you're ok and that you've gotten a good lawyer. Keep the faith man. I know exactly how you're feeling right now.
That wagon is my favorite long roof of all time,Never do i get tired of looking at it.Didnt know that was your truck either,Remember reading about the accident. That really blows,I dont remember seeing your truck in person but if you built it to the level of your wagon im shure it was as close to perfection as you can get.Yea,money/restitution can make it less painfull but its not always about money.Sometimes its just paper.Good luck on the repair and hope to see it at the rumblers next year........Seeya,Gary
i had a drunk hit me in the 37 a few years ago. I seriously tod him that I was going to f@$k his grilfriend in the ass with a dead carp. The police almost arrested me for being a public nusance.
