Im curious, with alll the hoopla of ol-school and folks spending killer bucks and time to make their car look worse in some cases (not all cases) where does a poor bastard who just does what he can (like me) fit in? Is the world of cars gonna open a trend for budget minded dreamers like me. Those who do their best on a tight budget, and are damn proud of it. Guys who make shit work. Not call someone and pay them big bucks to build a piece of shit, rather the guys who can build one on their own.... [IMG]
Im not a RAT-RODDER, I cant afford billet, dont know where to even look for the old stuff, so I use what I find. When do I get a T-shirt deal at walmart? When can I start cashing those kinda checks. Finally being poor is cool and I still cant fit in... Would it help if I pointed out my fire-wall is a T-intersection road sign? Will that get me a car-show deal of my own?

    Hey man,
There is sort of a sub-group of us out here.
I like to call it "Redneck Traditional" or "Backwoods Traditional".
We don't worry too awful much about being "period correct" and all that jazz. Most of the time our goal is to get our car running, driveable, and safe....of course we throw some power into the mix too...

Check out the Greazy Hubcapz C.C.

We have some kick ass rides in our club, but a lot of "Traditional" rules get broken too. We don't care too awful much. Its about fun.

I look at it this way....I'm from West Virginia (YES ITS AN ACTUAL STATE!) and I live in Tennessee.... Just the fact that I'm not into 'Stangs and Camaros says SOMETHING!

    Know what I mean?

Cool cars by the way! Take care of your Great Grandpa's car. That really means something right there. [IMG]

Right on man. To me it doesn't get anymore traditional than doing the best with what you have. What's so traditional about pay an arm and a leg for something that's vintage. Don't get me wrong, I love to see cars done that way, but I don't have that kind of money.

Nice cars too, I dig the chevy and it's history.

I think I'll switch gears...put a 350...no, wait...one of those silly 383 stroker small blocks in my Chevy...you know...for guys who want a bigger motor, but just can't handle the extra 17 cubes of a REAL 400!! I'll run a square pattern Comp Cams "one grind fits all motors" cam and play "Hot For Teacher"...on a harmonica...at stoplights!

Ha Ha Ha...love you cars, Dude...if you had a V6 in that Chevy, I'd have ta KILL ya...

...but you're cool by me!! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

    Dude.
You have the ability to see the past the gimmick...

The JEDI is with you in THE hellfire.....

    Thats the POINT,
we never intended to start BUILDING cars SHITTY. and we NEVER did or have, sure we made mistakes when we built some of first "RAT RODS", but to use we were aiming to copy the WAR HEROES of the 40's.............
The SCENE THING and the HIPNESS towards SHITTY cars.....

That just happened when the MEDIA sold its version of HOT RODDING to the MASSES in order to give them something to belong to......
And then things got all FUCKED UP.....

Your power is better used to have a good time, fuck hot chicks, and build whatever your hands will allow you too,,

THE TRADITIONAL hot rod, has BEEN ALTERED, into some kind of CARICATURE of BOWLING SHIRTS and tattooed teenage REBELLION.......

    WE HAVE THE GOLD,
and WE WILL ALWAYS hyave the GOLD,

cause we are strong and dont FOLLOW the fucking GIMMICK

As for me Luketrash, I am south of Williamsburg Iowa in a little drunk town called South English.... Two bars, a couple hundred people and a very leinient county sheriff, unless the other asshole get elected... He is campaining against everything us hillbillys stand for: He wants to eliminate drunkdriving, illegal racing, kids on 4 wheelers, the local mud-racers test-n-tuning across backyardss..... the freedoms we cherish here. Thats why we live in this hell-hole. With his last flyer he handed out, I doubt he gets any votes here... I dont know what I would do if I didnt have a 4 wheeler fly across my yard at 3AM or see a pair of mud-draggers pair off on main street at midnite on saturday nite. It sounds unsafe, but it isnt. You would have to see the size of this town.. I think we have 12 streets total.
