Ok. OK. I can take a hint.:D Here comes the Dragster pics...

But first, I have to say it was a blast being there! I took almost 300 photos that day, and picked out about 50 to share with everybody. But, in a handout everybody got while going in, it said photos are cool, but to be used for personal use only. No distribution, duplication, or sales.

I emailed Faith with a link to the pictures I intended to share, so she could check 'em out. Hopefully, she'll say it's OK.

But for now, I don't see a problem sharing some photos of a couple of the cars...the one's 'Juke Joint Johnny' and me brought out for the film shoot.

The cool blue dragster belongs to 'Royal Shifter' and he was gracious enough to work on getting it all spiffed up, and letting 'Johnny' take it down from Fresno.

The '55 Studebaker coupe belongs to my Dad. He's not a HAMB'er, but he agreed to letting me bring it too. He came out with us and really dug the whole thing, and he's really happy his car will probably wind up in a couple of the drag race scenes. He worked for weeks getting a new T&R interior in it, and countless other things, to get it ready for the film.

    OK, so here's the pics...

I would love to have been on location there! Very cool stuff. As for the mention of "rat rods" I really don't see a lot of that in these photos. I see some unfinished and/or unpainted rods, but from the photos, I can't tell if they're ratty or not. Just unfinished. I wasn't around in the 40s or 50s, but I remember seeing plenty of unfinished cars in primer and stripped down jalopies in the 60s. Many of them parked at our house. Not everyone had something shiny. My family was broke and so were our friends. Couldn't afford paint. Heheh:D

Anyway, can't wait to see the end result of this shoot. Should be pretty cool.

Thanks for the extra pics of the Stude. This shot with your Dad's car all by it's lonesome would have been perfect.

Great Pics and a lot of fun! It was a pleasure meeting all of you who came out that day! 4 am came early when my alarm went off but it was worth it! Some cool cars and really nice people! It got hot and I got pretty burnt, but It was fun. I met a lot of the HAMBers out there. Lobsterboy, it was nice meeting you. I recognize you by the Black 48.

Just found this thread and wanted to re***ure you that the way we staged the scene, none of the "rat rod" cars could be identified as such. The scene looks pretty darn authentic :). It was a blast, and the biggest scene in my film. I had to handle over 100 people on my set and only had a crew of like... three people . Yet the day went smooth as a baby's ****, cause everyone there was so nice and supportive. The doctor, who owns the property, was stunned. he kept ranting and raving about how nice the poeple there were, and was very impressed. Good thing, cause he let us use his private airstrip for free! :D

Thanks for sharing the photos, I had never seen them and I am going to ****** them for my blog!!

For updates on the film from now on, join the DEUCE IF SPADES social group on the HAMB:

Per Ryan's instructions, this is where I will keep the hambers abreast of the film progress from now on.

See you there! And thank you again for bringing your cool cars to that shoot!!
