    For that truck?!?

Tell you what... I'll give Gary $500.00 for the Roadster. Then he'll have enough money to buy that truck, and still have $300.00 in his pocket for gas money.

  2. would have sold the roadster body and put an RPU on the existing chassis and still have a hotrod

Its just another roadster... nice car cool stance but hey Its time for change. I myself dont like to keep things long either. buy em build em sell em. I understand. Now keep in mind hes not trading even up. He got a good buy on the truck. made good money on the roadster. He got a new toy to build. PLUS a wad of cash in his pocket. I have yet to have an auto that I had a special relationship with and could not part with. Its just another car!! Im bored with the roadster.. Lets see what we can do with this ol dodge pick-up. No issues with me

Ok, now that my little friend "Malcolm" had his fun. Let me set the record straight. I did not sell the roadster to buy this truck, if that was the case I hope you would all have me committed never to see the light of day again. My roadster was a super cool little hot-rod but after 2 years collecting parts and building it and another 4 years on the road having a blast with it. It was time to move on. (I had that car about 3 years longer than anything I've ever owned )Also it was for sale here on the HAMB so any of you could have been the new owners (Malcolm included).... Didn't get any calls! It did get sold though, last week and will soon be headed for New Hampshire.
The truck is just something to bar hop in go to swap meets and have a good time with.
I do have a 40 Ford coupe in the works that will replace the roadster and my ever lasting need for a hot-rod and hope to have it on the road this summer (updates on the build to come soon) Hope this answers all your questions. I haven't lost my mind...... really! Gary

Glad to hear, we were worried for you - seriously worried. Good luck with the new projects and keep us posted, truck too.

  10. Gary's a man after my own heart. Buy um, play with um, sell um...get another.

So many hot rods, so little time...

  11. HAHA...

That vintage of Dodge truck would likely be on my top 5 best all around beater truck, parts getter, etc. that I've ever owned...

If you get one that hasn't had the wiring all screwed up, it'll run forever. I had a nice 1-owner '69 D-100 that was unbreakable...I tried!

Haha... I'd better chime back in :D

Like Gary said already, he didn't sell the Roadster to buy the truck.
I was just jerking his chain a little :D

The Roadster and truck deals just happened around the same time, so I thought it'd be funny to post this - all in good fun! :p

Sorry to hear the Roadster's leaving. I too wish I coulda owned it. But ya know I already have too many 2 seaters.

Be sure to put some jump seats in the back of that 40 Coupe. Because if your 40 turns out as cool as the roadster, you'll need to bring the title with ya when ya come to Des Moines next year. You might just end up going home with another long roof.

doesn't surprise me a bit. I don't know Gary very well, but from talking to him, I have deep respect for his hotrod wisdom and his spirit. Build 'em/enjoy 'em/make some $/move on. Kinda the way most women treat us studs.

Good move Gary! Can't wait to see the 40.

Dude!! That truck rules. Man, welcome back to the insane world-o-Mopar!! That is a kick ass body style, nice stance on the truck in the picture from Mopar King Big Dad. Great score, congrats on your hot rod sale, and like the other cats I hate to see it go. But we know when that door closes another opens. How about those "Blasters last week!! WOW!!~Sololobo~
