I would never use the stock type pumps again.
Speedway sells sets with the newer style seals and bearings.
I have not had a set go bad yet.

I would recommend the new style that Speedway offers. I'm running a '49 8ba in my pickup, with a set of their pumps, and have never had a problem. When i put my truck together, i also used a new (reproduction) '65 Mustang radiator, and it has never gotten hot. Look in their catalog, it shows pictures of the various pumps, and you can pick the ones that fit your application!

  5. I believe he is more concerned in the motor mount function of the water pump.

Regular '37-48 p***enger pumps are what you need, same mount for whatever supplier you use...
Ford messed aroundwith mount spacing and height every damn year '32-6, and I've never owned a '35. I think '35 may be first year that directly matches the 59A pumps, but not sure. Lower engine in, mount trans, lower engine til center of crank pulley is aligned with where hand crank comes through from front...that is correct height. If mount holes are right over '35 mounts and 1--1/2 inch from the surface, just bolt everything together. If slightly misaligned and way high, you need a simple spacer roughly 1 1/2--2" thick with very slightly offset holes, thickness chosen to put engine centerline right. A piece of square tubing is often about right...top of adapter bolts direct to pump legs, rubber '35 cushion below.

If you want to use the 5/8" wide belt, you'll need the pumps from a 48-52 pick up truck. Use Speedway's pumps. My 50 Merc is in a 40 ford and thats is my combination.

Ford actually made a conversion spacer kit for the 37-48 engine into pre-37 ch***is.
Used a incredibly heavy chunk of "flat bar" bent into a "U" and drilled to fit to water pump mount ear on top and stock motor support insulators on bottom side.
