Yea! It really is :( I Really wanted Roy to play a part in the Restoration at least to point me in the right direction on certain things he did but I know when im done with the truck he will be looking down with a big smile :D proud as can be.

  3. Wonderful story and great that Roy could have the happy moment near the end. God speed to Roy and the truck will always be a tribute to him. Conrad and Hamb's Ryan can take pride in the fact that they provided the way to share it with us all.
    Thank you both.

its with out a doubt the koolest part of this hobby when you can do what you have done with the help of friends, have the truck, find the builder. its a really good feeling.a lot of sweat has gone into that truck. it needs to live on.

There is no dought this truck will live on, You aint kidding its a good feeling if I had to describe it I would have to say its probobly the most exiting thing ive ever experienced sort of like finding a lost treasure map and figuring out the clues and working my way to the lost treasure and finding it. Soooo cool! Sometimes I think about the way things went down and Damn! with out the help of the Awesome Hamb Brothers this could have never happened! So once again Thanks!! Hambers for making Roy's and my dreams come true this is what its all about.:D

Roy was an inspiration to myself and most other car guys in the Lewiston/Clarkston valley back in the 50s and 60s. He married one of my classmates, and they moved up to Spokane. His skill with a pencil and paper was only exceeded by his abilities with bodywork. He just drew it out, and then made it happen. He'll be missed by his family, his many friends in the hobby, his customers at his Las Vegas shop, his co-workers and all of those who knew him.

This has been the best thread I've come across so far....... what a rush. What a let down - Roy - RIP.

I'm sure you'll do the truck & Roy right with its restoration.

This thread has been nothing short of fantastic.

Thank you for making us all part of it on the HAMB.

Awesome story with an inevitable ending. Congrats to all that helped Roy in his last few months to be reunited with his truck. A story like this is what it's all about.

Here is another picture of the truck again Compliments of Roys Daughter Michelle. Roy painted the truck candy red this was his favorite version of it. Whenever he was tired of the way it looked he tore it down and repainted it another color for the show circut.

I wasn't ready for this ending. Not the truck because it will live on, but Roy's lost battle with a dreaded disease. It is spectacular that the two were reunited before his death. I'm sure as the reconstruction is taking place those involved will feel Roy's presence. A finer tribute to a mans life work just doesn't exist.
RIP Mr. Roy Delaney. Thanks for leaving us an example of your talent and dreams.

  20. Just read all the post, I don't know how I missed this story the first time around. It's cool but sad. I hope you get the truck finished and I can't wait to see the finshed product.

Roy will be missed, i have known roy since i moved out to las vegas which was almost 5 years ago, I met him when he was healthy and just starting to decline. HE loved his cars and was continuing to work on them, the last car he rebuilt was his 26/27 tall t, it was always nice to see the smile on his face when he was able to work on cars. He will definetly be missed. Im glad to see the truck being restored to his favorite condition. His funeral is this sat. i will be attending. R.I.P. Roy, u will be missed greatly

    Wow...
I am blown away. I am so happy to hear about Roy, not his passing, but his ending to this story. I imagine what he experienced is as joyful a thing as anyone of us could hope for. I also hope to look back in the twilight of my days; and see the sun setting on a lifetime of Good Lovin' and Gods Blessin', just before I pass the torche.

And to you Mr.Bomba... wow, seems to me, you're just the guy to carry it. Sounds like this whole thing was waitin for you all along. She truely is a "Dream"
