  1. I know it's fun to do some internet rodding while you're at work or late at night... but working in the garage, for me anyway, is where it's at.

    What about you?

Be honest with yourself... nobody will know how you poll. :D

Garage? I wish. I spend about 12 hours a day (or more) in front of my computer at work. Then I go home and work some more.

  3. Maybe I should be more specific... when I say "on the computer" I mean "On the computer on hot rodding sites, looking for parts, looking at pictures of hot rods etc."

  4. At work is the only time i get to see the HAMB threads. Computers here are SAT. driven. The one at home can't download the word internet in less than an hour. Garage time here is at a premium anyway. Fabbing up even the simplest part here is like pulling hens teeth.

I love working in the garage, but the computer helps fill the sometimes very large time gap between trips outside.

I sit at a desk all day , from 7 to 6. Id love to be working on stuff at home. Garage time these days is hard to come by.

  7. At this point its on the computer. BUT I HAVE A GOOD EXCUSE! Im on the pc all day here at my store anyways and I have two young children at home as Im a single parent...so garage time is pretty limited these days.

  8. i spend all day in the shop fixing other people's cars.
after that i spend my time painting other people's stuff.
when i'm done with that i just wanna go inside and look at the HAMB where people are getting things done.

I'm in the garage about 8 hours a day, maybe more on a good day. But Lately I've been splitting that time with editing together a new film I have in the works, I hope you hot rod guys can handle another one!

  14. Wish I had a lap top in the shop as I look up & order parts from our local NAPA store 5 miles away but its a long distance PH call Finlay put them in my circle on the cell But it does make it easier to make estimates for the late mod shit on there & push print My shop is about 50 yards from the shop Just hard to get started again & the wife usually has had time to Think of something she needs me to do Bummer! Then I get farther behind Is this a trick ???

    Computers suck....
im in the garage as much as possible, since the time change i have been tired after work, body needs to adjust to the lack of day light hours... sometimes i get things done, others i manage to move shit around, after which i need to move onto other daily tasks.

I waited all my life to actually have a garage and in late 2003 I got my house with 24x30 garage. Up until then I either had a shed, carport or some other form of area to work on......now that I think about it I had never even had a concrete slab to work on until the house purchase.

I used to work all day 10-11 hours at my job, then come home and work til I couldnt no more on my own stuff. After about 6 years ago and finally getting a PC at home and building my internet business I stayed less and less in the garage until it was needed. Hopefully soon I can get back to a normal 40-50 hour a week job and stay off the pc when I get home and get back to my old modding self.

    alot of possible variables here.
I get a chance at work to be on here, not so much when Im at home.
If I have money to work on my projects than Im out there getting it done.
Life interrupts, family has its time..
too hard to put an amount of time on it.

wish I could be 80% in the shop and 5% here, and the rest of the % broken up into what i Have to do..just doesnt always work out that way.
The internet can be a great research tool though.

  18. Right now I spend around 2-3 hours a day on the computer...I'm learning alot of info on the H.A.M.B. site during the evenings....during the mid-day I'm in and out of the garage..start at 8 am until 3 pm...I'm trying to get the garage set up and get my heat going. Cold as hell here at nite in northern Maine. I'm biting at the bit to get going on me 28 Chevy build..OH yea....I also get to do things around the house once in awhile...yuk..

  19. If it wasn't for having a desk job half the time, I wouldn't get much computer/HAMB time. No internet at the shop!

Computer now since I have a wife and kid that demand most of my time. I wish I could be out in the garage but I found out the more time I spend out there the more money I spend. And I am currently trying to pay everything off in my life. And the truck is 85% done so....

    its HAMB time for now.

I'm not on a computer at work.
so the only time I get to surf car sites is after work.
and right now with the economy the way it is,I don't have that extra money to throw at the cars as I have in the past.
so it is great to come to site such as this one and see what others are doing.

This sucks, and i blame both the HAMB and my work.

I spend more hours of the day in front of a computer than wrenching on my cars. But then again, that's what i get paid to do-- so it enables the other fun time.

yeah...Well, normally Im drunk and greasy, but with the broken neck and back, the last 4 weeks have been more keyboard maintenance than garage maintenance.

So, in the next week or so, maybe I'll be turn some wrenchs again. They'll have to be small wrenchs, but at least they will be wrenchs!

    Cheers and beers

I work on the street in front of my house, or in the grass in front of my buddy's shop. Once in a while, I can get a little space inside his place, but usually, I just content myself with what I can get.

Oh, and I spend way, way too much time in front of this damn PC. I'm a grad student though, so it's rarely the HAMB.
