Hey gang, looking to do a photostory on the old So. Glens Falls, N.Y. drag strip, and need some pictures. Any help or information will be appreciated, just trying to keep the memories alive, either post for all or e-mail me, thanks in advance, Jim.:)

I have been in contact with Bob (bucksnort) and have a shot of his 57 at the strip, the only one! Have a few shots of Don Noyes and his US Mules (noisey), but that's about it, thanks for responding, Jim.

    Hi Jim
You have a pic of my wagon?I would like to see that.Couple of years ago we had an informal reunion of SGF.
Racemad was there. Also there was Don Noyes telling lots of stories. He is a character. He came up with Ron Scott of AA/A fame.Would like to see the US Mule shots.I got a bunch of pix from the Falls.Wish I could get them to load to a size you can see.PM me and I can scan pix for you.
PS:just got a DVD copy of an 8 mill.film showing the paving of the strip in 1962.Glad I am easily amused.

at the address. He doesn't know why but hopes to get it straightened out in the future.

Bucksnort, Does John Hall still have the bench racing meetings? I had a flyer for one a couple of years ago. Was going to go but had to go out of town. There are a few guys still around that ran at South Glens Falls. I think he has quite a lot of photos and info.

When we have it we will give notice everyplace we can think of and in the Post Star and Times Union.

To complete what I have as pictures of SGF cars, is my buddies A/G 47 Ford coupe, running a 411 Pontiac, and an unknown to me 40 Chevy coupe, found on the internet, so you guys have what I have, Jim.

I've got a few SGF trophies and side glass stickers somewhere in a box with a few pictures. I ran an A/G Olds powered 53 Stude coupe there in 63' & 64'. Holy shit, that was 45 years ago!!

Straightpipes, 1963-64, that's about when I was attending SGF. Had a lot of friends from Cohoes, that ran, Pittsey Trembley ran every week in a 1962 Chevy, had a back window full of class win stickers. Can remember a thunderbolt running there, Muldowney running her rail, but mostly just a laid back, fun place, better than a Carrolls hamburger! Jim.

Doug, did I ever meet you at Egans, or down to the Bones party? Was at the North Hudson event in the spring, excellent turnout! Bring that crazy S.O.B. Ramy Bessey when you come down!

Yeh, Bucksnort, that's my first ride, worked all winter, after graduation, saved up $300 to buy it! Wow, like to buy one today for that price. Powerpack 265, with 3 speed on the floor with a Hurst shifter. All's that left is that picture and memories, and there fading:(

I'm sure we met at Garys house several years ago. Were you driving a grey or silver coupe?fenderless maybe? I've been to the last two Bones shindigs also.I've seen your Nomad at Rhienbeck, but couldn't catch up to you there. Maybe at the museum....
I also just heard that the North Hudson thing will be on again this spring.

Yep,was there a few times.Bunch of us went up for
    a Can-Am race I think they called it.Stock/Super Stock.
Crewed on a friends C/S Goat.Think it was 68-69 time frame.
Saw lots of good cars there.George Constantines Mustang
stands out.Had to have decent brakes there and the return
road was scenic. When I am up that way I take a ride down
    the old track.

Does anyone have a picture of the "Blown Hearst", or who ran it back in the early 60's. It ran at SGF, Dover, Lebanon Valley, looking to complete photostory, here is a shot I found on line, thanks, Jim.

OK, I admit I'm stupid for not using the HAMB search first, maybe if I spelled Hearse correctly, that would help! It's amazing the amount of information that's here on this web site, just got to remember to be cool! Imagine not only finding shots of the Hearse, but running against Noisey, way cool. Jim.
