It was good, would have been better had it been longer, the damn comercials took up half the time of the show. My four year old son sat in front of the tv yelling I want that car, I want that one, look daddy I want that one. I was bitten by the model "A" bug a few months back and after seeing that "T" come together I may just have to sell off the 53 and start the search.......nah I'll keep the 53 and buy a model "A" to sit beside her (since I'll be broke and won't have the cash to do anything else but set it there) [IMG]

Not a bad show. Kinda skimped on what Hot Rodding came from

    [/ QUOTE ]

Dude, didnt you even watch the show? If you did, you would have seen that hot rodding came from Robert Williams and the choppers. At least thats what he said.

All kidding aside. I loved it. Just like HankCash said

I liked how they declined the term "rat rod"

That was my favorite episode of rides.

Yep all hotrods are patterned after Robert Williams car.....

I do, where I used to work we had a big, angry, Texan, lesbian press-person.

One of funniest sayings was "I'll wade in the red river, but I won't drink from it."

I believe Rides did a decent job with the show. Shit, with only 20 minutes of actual footage and 40 minutes of commercials, I think they did a bang up job. It's no MFS video, but I was pleased.

  9. It was a cool show.

They dwelled on "Making the Scene" in the beginning. That got me kind of worried about what the show might be about.

Then they showed us a group of Hardcore gear heads actually build a cool hotrod.

How could anyone not like that.

I dug it. They did a nice job. Robert Williams needs to calm his ego down. Other than that it was cool...

I think it was done well. It held my attention for a whole hour, and my generation has the attention span of a moth.

I think Robert Williams was probably being sarcastic and jerking your chain. Now all the newbies who don't know shit about hot rods are gonna go around saying Robert Williams invented them. It's a joke fellas!

Thank god somebody finally put the nix on this stupid "rat rod" term. I cringe everytime I hear it...except when it actually is referring to a dangerous piece of shit.

  13. I thought it was pretty good. Not all the drama of the other shows. They cut a lot out for "entertainment value" i'm sure - but all in all way to go Choppers!! Very nice job representing what hot rods are all about.[IMG]

Only bad think I see is that the prices of over priced vintage parts went up again. [IMG]

Great show, The Choppers rule, God bless 'em.

Robert Williams is an arrogant SOB, but I love him to death, see? Erm' if I'm not mistaken the Swedes and the English actually had us beat when it comes to the resurrection of the traditional hot rod, but what does Robt know, he's 83 years old.

Some of the writing on the show was pretty clueless, did anyone else notice that when they came back from a commercial they reffered to the engine, or was is the carbs as a "flathead Six"?

    Ha, clueless mutherfuckers.

Did anyone else see glimpses of Verne's crashed '34?

That was sad, does anyone know if it's been repaired yet?

How about the scars on Verne's head from crashing his unsafe rat rod?

I'm with Hankcash. That was the best episode of Rides I have seen yet. I think it helped to define traditional rods very well and I liked the Choppers taking the emphasis away from the rat rod term.

    Ditto!

That was right on, it was great, fantastic. Hats off to TLC.
    They did'nt half ass it.
They found the right club to follow around. Congrats to the Choppers:
    They build killer cars.
    They have lots of fun.
    They're good guys too.

It was great to hear "Babys Hot Rod" by the Dave and Deke combo with Chopper Lance Soliday beating the skins, playing on the sound track.

Well the weather turned bad ,and the lights went out after a few minutes so I will catch it again. Looked ok from what I seen ,but I'm not as much a purist as most folks. To me it's kind of like watching a ugly stripper, what else you go to do anyway.

    I actually caught that mistake..

Hank - you rule, your lady rules..but I would get back in the other room no matter if she is "period correct" anytime! more pics please..

I thought the show was great, the best damn show to date on tv. The Choppers did really well, and I applaude them. I did see a few Hambers cars on there. Its funny how this topic alone gets us 3 new memebers introing here. I am a little affraid of the inflitration and increase in costs of our hobby, but oh well what are we going to do about it.

To the guy who said not period correct, your an ASS..

About the wood floors, didn't most 20's-30's car come factory with wood floors? Isn't that where the term "floor BOARDS" comes from? At least it wasn't a "rockerific" chicken wire floor!
