    Ready set Go!
I have started the next project that will be done by the Lone Star Roundup 09.
Will keep everyone in the mix on the build, it is at B***'s Shop getting the lid lowered 5in.
Will get picks posted on the build when things start happening.
    Things to look for:
    5in chopped top
    chrysler grill with buick lights
    full boxed ch***is with IFS
    custom hood scoops
    other misc.....

I am up for any other ideas you guys and gals want to throw out there. After the roundup I am taking a week or so off and drive the truck around Texas for a site seeing trip.

I got a few pics of the ch***is when we were doing the brake lines and a pic of the cab getting ready to go to B***'s Shop in Dallas.

Brewsir did 7 1/2 inches.. I think 5 inches will look fine.

You may want to consider rear fenders from a mid-'50's-'60's Chev/GMC stepside, as they have a subtly more integregal, linear shape.

Your talking apples and oranges here. Look at the difference in the windshield post on Brewsir's. Good luck cutting a gl***.

Yeah I know brewsir's is an earlier one, but the basic shape of the rest of the cab isn't any different.. It can be done, maybe not easily, but I bet between RC and B*** they can figure it out.

    A built-to-the-balls chromed-out Y-block. :D

Maybe make that a Lincoln Y-block.

the hard part about a 56 is the wraparound windshield that has a built in visor over the top....most guys drop straight down and lose the visor...which looks a little goofy to me...This is one chop I would definately cut the gl*** first and build the steel to fit and look right. I also have no doubts B*** has it all aced out without my 2cents!

Pull the bottoms of the front fenders in. I always kinda liked that with angled quad headlights.

Looks like the frame is done? My favorite mod on an F100 [wish I had done it to my 53] is to move the front wheels and fender opening forward a few inches.

Well I am getting the frontend mocked up after I picked the truck up from B***'s shop.
I hope to have all the sheet metal work done and ready for tear down by the first of the year...

Twist the body once and just watch that windshield crack run.

Their is a local guy here that has a 56 Effie chopped 6'' and he has no problems...I'll see if I can find a pic of it...it has been completed and on the road for more than 5 years for sure...No crack's in the bodywork no cracked windshields and had no problem putting gl*** in it

I have never liked the looks of a chopped '56.....it just looks out of proportion to me.....but that's just my taste. Have you considered sectioning it 3-5"?.......Never seen that done but it would blend the rest of it into a more balanced overall picture ....especially the tall doors.

That's sectioned and chopped and has great proportions. Arlen Ness of Harley fame built one similar several years ago and there is a red one that is kinda run down that has been for sale on Craigs List in the Seattle area for ever.

To bad to see this in the "cl***ified". I've been waiting to see the windshield cut and installed.

The sectioning makes all the difference in the world. Here's one I am working one. Sectioned 3, chopped 3, channelled 5, pie cut the fenders and slanted the B-pillar. Putting in hideaways right now. Rough but on the way

That first pic looks like the top was chopped more in the back than the front?

Here one I was building till the owner ran outta money, 3" chop, 3 1/2" section, I loved the proportions. I did a 4 1/2" chop (owner wish) on another 56, hated the look myself.
Couldn't find the pics but I did a 54 with the canted Chrysler headlights, really like how they looked!

A neighbor has something similar. chopped, custom front end and I would recommend pinching the bottom of the fenders. he took a few inches out of the bottom of the fenders also (because it sat low)
