At B'ville, I met a young pinstriper that was working with Gene Winfield, named Derek Beste. He did some cool pinstriping on the headlights of the Singlefinger Special out on the salt, despite having a bandaged hand from an ATV spill. He was friendly to everybody that stopped by their pit, just like Gene is.

Dereks said that his dad, John Beste lived in Warren (MI) before he p***ed away.

I remember the name & I know that I've met John before, but I'm drawing a blank. It's been bugging me that I can't put a face to the name. Can you guys help fill in my blank?

    thx

  4. Hey john.. I got a call saying that you were dead.. Asked gene to give you a call to see if ya answered. He called back and said you were all good.. Your son is a very talented young man. I truely enjoy having him around the shop. The kid can lay down a line and turn a wrench like an old pro.. He is going to be a damn famous builder some day.. He is already getting ink. Be proud!....
