From your picture, it does look like you have the support piece that fits above the windshield for the 33 year. Like Richard Head says (Dave knows his 34's - he has a very nice coupe), the 34 support is very different than the 33. Take a look at a 34 the next time you get a chance, and you will see the difference very quickly.
Thanks for all the info guys. I know what the 34 header looks like...I just did not know if mine was missing, or just a different design. It's model 40 time here in Spokane, My dad is working on his 33 four door, I have my 33 coupe, and my good friend Tim just got his 33 tudor body back from the sandblasters, PLUS the guy who bought my old 34 tudor is hiring Tim to do the whole car!!!! (Tim owns a hot rod shop). Regardless, it's hard not to get pumped on doing a car when everyone else is Heres my Dad's car with his "mock up" tires/wheels. This car got saved!!! He started working on it in the mid 90's...has Mustang II, 9" with coil overs, 350/350, tilt colum, ect. He now bought a different frame, has a dropped axle, 34 rear, 59AB, stock steering box and a 39 trans. My Dad, my freind Tim and I are all looking for 33 grills too. Should make it interesting at the swap meet next weekend if theres one there
OH YEAH, most of a coupe top! When I bought this car on ebay, a guy told the seller to tell me he had this top for sale. It took a little while to get it, but here she is!
Nice roof! Here are some pics of my car done. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=277776
Myke, I remember seeing that thread. I love that 32, that is the look I'm going for with ths pile Thanks!
Bought a decent frame from the one and only Jim Sibley, and also a 39 trans for 50.00! Will have pics tonight! Thanks again Jim!!!
Yet more packages arive today! Heres the "real mccoy" 39 trans I bought last night for 50.00: And here is what Vaphead donated to the cause. My floor is not rusty, but has chunks cut out in the trunk and rear floor. He had this rear floor section laying around and shipped it to me. I cannot thank him enough!!! Thanks again Eric
Chris, I don't know why you want to put another roof on your coupe - you should be able to hammer that one out - just takes a lot of work, but at least you have the whole body shell still intact.
Well, I'm gonna chop it anyways, and the roof was free so I figured why not? My roof is pretty messed up in spots, so I may use it, may not use it, or may use a couple chunks...but at least I have it if I need it.
Well, not a big pdate but here you go. I picked up this chrome 33 trim ring and red insert, and my good friend Logan gave me this mint 33 speedo. I'm gonna run the stock gas and amp gauge as well in an engine turned insert, and put some vintage oil pressure and temp guages in the center of the dash. So far, this is the best looking part of the car
Lookin' good Chris!!! You're already ahead of me!! I found an insert set for guages to the side, but am still ISO a '33ish speedo! Tim
My friend has had that speedo for years, and when I told him I bought one, he grabbed it off the shelf and shoved it into my hands. I knew I HAD to run it
i think the screws holding the quarters onto the pillars is a home remidy of rotted wood, but who knows, ive had a 33 and 34 sedan and the quarters are both one peice with the door jambs on both, but 34 has alot more metal, the rear window opening on the 33 was more like a 32 set up with wood al around, the 34 has metal around it. same thing with the header, 33 les metal more wood, 34 all metal one little peice of wood. one other structural difference is the upper door tins, 33's have little tabs where the windlace would go and 34 is one solid flange if that makes sense. i like the looks of you dads car minus the MII front end thats hidding behind the white wall! jeff
Bought this cowl for the firewall. My firewall is beyond help being cut up with a torch and chunks from other firewalls being scabbed on it. The cowl is pretty screwed up from the doors being welded on, the door jam is warped and torn pretty bad, so my plan is to replace the whole thing with this. Should be pretty easy to do. The drivers side of the new cowl has some slight damage, but came with a spare cowl side.
