    Packard V8 speed parts!

All you guys got it easy. At least the parts you sex for existed. Twenty-two pages and no one has mentioned speed parts for a Packard V8, because they're unobtanium. In forty years I've seen a couple of aluminum flywheels, a few Iskenderian cams and kits, but ZERO intake manifolds of any description; never any headers, rocker covers, valley covers, blower kits, rocker arms, transmission adapters - we have to machine and fabricate anything and everything! If you ever see any, PackardV8@comcast.net.

    thnx, jack vines.

I once had a Mallory dual point for '55-'56 Packard V8s, and it looked very close to the drive on a '54-'62 Cadillac distributor--in fact, the vendor that sold it to me thought that it was a Caddy unit. I'm not sure if Packard and Cadillac have the same direction of rotation, but it may be worth looking into.

If I remember correctly Allstate was the brand of heads Sears carried back in the day. Maybe not that rare but then again NOS parts for a flathead aren't that abundant in this day and age.

I see your wanted listing. There were two WD6's on eBay not a month ago! I'll keep my eyes open for you.

The funny thing is, mine came from an attic in Penna. And you live in Penna.

These are pretty darn rare but I have managed to find about a dozen of them over the years.

1956-57 Chrysler product Highway HI FI record player

The records for it are even harder to find!
They played a 7" disc (same as a 45) but it played at 16 2/3 RPM so you could get a lot more on each side. It hooked into the radio and played through the cars speakers using the radios amplifier.

You got the first 6 records with the player when you bought the option but the others had to be purchased by mail order. 42 titles were available to the public.

Here are a list of the titles that were available. (sorry no rock and roll)
http://www.roadkillontheweb.com/records.html the last 6 records (37-42) are hens teeth

I had over a hundred records including a complete set of 42 that were mostly NOS and an additional first 36 along with dealer demo records and service tech records. along with two NOS players when I sold my collection for just shy of $20K

Most people are familiar with the later version 45RPM player made by RCA

1929 Chevy 20 inch wire wheels are as rare as Senior High School cheerleaders that are still virgins.

How about these stainless hood tips for a 38 lasalle? They only put them on 101 hearses made by sayers-scoville in 1938. Not as cool as a blower oe injection system, but....
