Customcory came over to the shop today to mock up one of his golden subs.

  2. One look says off topic. The Samba is for this stuff. Go now please or delete this thread.

I had the gun loaded, barrel in my ear, and before I pulled the trigger, I read a positive reply. Thanks 36couper.

And WHO exactly is "Weeks46"...and why is he telling you to delete this thread...??? I sure as hell don't see his name on the ownership of this site list...!!!!

And you're correct Realkustom51...we can't all own the Golden Sub (not that I'd ever want it anyway), so we have to do what we do...the VW is looking good...!!!

Dont shoot! Sorry, but what exactly is a "golden sub" and why would it be hated? I can respect the build, looks cool.

Kinda like this only different. The golden sub is quite a influence. This drawing is from customcory as well.

Really its just a poor mans hot rod. Its for street as the 40 front brakes have told me in the past. We might start testing how to kick out the rear gl*** in case of a fire / crash.

More like a Golden Dub! Looking pretty mean. Looks like quite a bit of metal work to get that top chopped and flowing nice. Cory does some of the most creative custom designs seen on the HAMB and I appreciate seeing his own car being built.

For those who don't like it- turn the page. That's what I do when I run into a post that I don't have an appreciation for.

  11. If the car ends up like the drawering it will be cool!

Well, you learn something new everyday. I can honestly say I have never seen one. Looks like it would be pretty cool. Good luck.

Yep- the linked work. Nice job! It would be fun to do that with something not so rare- kinda takes some of the stress out.

If someone really wants to preserve the HAMB then he should become an Alliance member!

theres a complete split oval down the road from me, belongs to the guys daughter and shes living in japan stupid thing hasnt moved in 20 years atleast
torn apart but eveything is in the body

  19. This is a forum for Traditional Hot Rods right? Well the Samba is a place for Veedubs. I used to have a Volksweezel before my 1930 model A. I was so into it I even had the license plate VLKSWZL. I am not trying to start anything just saying this is off-topic for the HAMB. I appreciate fine metal working and art renditionings don't get me wrong, but just o/t.

I bet the VW is more interesting than your "1930 Model A Business Coupe".

Anyone that can chop a VW & get it that right has my respect.

  21. 57' veedub and down actually had ovals and 53' and down are Zwitters. And purists and ********s say there hasn't been a Volkswagen that rolled off the ***embly line in Wolfsburg since the model change in late 1967. Thanks for the support Desoto glad to see one of the older members has the idea straight.-Weeks

Every time I see an oval or split window I think it's spliced in but I'm sure that's not always the case. Yeah, I'd start with a plain Jane beetle but it's obvious that these guys know what they are doing.

As far a VW's being off topic- I appreciate seeing some slightly OT cars once in a while here on the HAMB. I'd probably loose my patience seeing anything that cool on a reg VW site or even know where to look. There have been some really cool VW customs that pop up here once in a while so it's nice to see one's that have some hot rod style to the bodywork. Just a little ****e to the HAMB stew.

Hey Weeks46. Please Dont mind me. I agree 100% it's OT. I am bored tonight and just want to stir sheeet up. I poo pooed my shorts when I saw your License Plate post just now with the bubble top "TFLITE" tag.
To be honest , my bro is having hard times between surgerys and since he came by today and worked in the shop, it made me post some OT stuff. This car has been sitting forever hince the dust. One more pic and then I say, lets all end this thread. Thanks.
