  3. Big Daddy left with the camera so no pics yet...

    BUT...

we went over and switched the linkage and she rolled...

but she got stuck....e-brake over adjusted. these dudes are geniuses!

we got it un stuck and found REALLY quick that the clutch is smoked.

got it on the rack. left rear brake return spring broke. 4 wheel cylinders bad, shock mounts loose, 2 bolts not installed in front driveshaft joint, all kinds of fun stuff.

we're getting the trans out now...more to come.

I may have a carb. Let me know if you still need it and I can throw it in a USPS box on Monday. No guarantees with it. I've got to go dig in the barn but I suspect I've seen it this year...

  6. thanks.
we're covered on carb and cleaner.

found one missing bellhousing bolt, wheel lug nut on the starter...

    time for pizza.

Good. Mine aren't manual chokes, I've found. But I've got 2 that I could find!

    Nice starter retention methodology.

Holy cow, Mitch, you may be doing more than just getting this Lady back on the road. You're saving her life! Good thing those bozos didn't get that trap rolling with all that rigged work going on.

    very cool of you fellas.:)

  13. well...

we just knocked off about half an hour ago. hopefully bigdaddy will post pics when he gets around to it.

i got one late night group shot on my phone but i havent gotten around to downloading it just yet.

    good turnout this morning.
rustyredram, 36rustrod, bigdaddy, rick with the green 51 AWB, and another cat who came by to drop funds but had to split (sorry i forgot your name, hollowpoint, tikidiablo and our buddy rick who did more work with a cast on one arm than most guys with two good ones.

we got the trans out and put a new clutch and pressure plate in, replaced the output shaft yoke, fixed the broken brake return spring and adjusted all the brakes, put new plugs in the motor, tightened up the rear suspension components and basically straightened out a bunch of misc. stuff.

i REALLY want to thank everyone who donated funds.

no matter how much you gave, it went to a good cause.

we raised about 350 dollars and we still have about 200 in the kitty. i'm thinking we'll try and pin down some front floor pans to replace the flintstone jobs in there now and then take it to the muffler shop to have a proper tailpipe installed.

the car is still at the shop and we have it as long as we need it. hopefully we can get it on the road ASAP.

    thanks again to EVERYONE involved

Mitch, thanks for the soda and a place to hide for a few minutes. This afternoon when I stopped back by the owner was digging thru the trunk and there are brand new floorpans laying in there. If you need the welder PM me.

It was the best saturday I've had in quite awhile! That car was a mess! I am tired, but knowing how appreciative that lady is of what we are doing for her just makes me want to dig into it some more. When are we going to change those flintstone floors? Let me know!

  26. How's the radiator look... I have one for a '49 I'd kick for a cause like this that isn't pretty but it leaks tests perfect and flows just fine... if she needs one for it I'll ship it out.
