I recently took a challenge to do something I've not done before. Build a model from one kit, using only the parts in the box, nothing extra except for filler, glue, paint and chrome foil if required. Here's the result.
Very nice... I've been wanting to dig out some of my old models and put them out on display. I haven't built one in probably 20 years.
Here's my p*** time while waiting out the snow and the cold here in Minnesota. Racing hard body slot cars, model car bodies on slot ch***is. The '53 has been off the track than on, and been totaled and rebuilt more than a half a dozen times. If ya have a local commercial track near by, ya should give it a try, it's a blast! Thanks for the thread!
Very nice Carps! There was a real four door nearby for a couple of years I always looked at. Now I can see how nice it could have been. How's the pinstriping going?
Theres a sunday Model car thats been up before this, for the date Awesome stuff carps! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=309661&highlight=sunday
Man that is beautiful. The custom Chrysler has to be one of the most detailed AMT kits ever. How'd you mask off the scallops and outlines?
Look what I saw last weekend, a nicely built "continuation" series Cheetah. The old Cox slot car version was my favorite slot car! Gary
I mixed and sprayed the yellow pearl first, then masked it using BMF before mixing and spraying the copper flake. The lines were done using a very worn (not many bristles left) Excalibur 0000 striping brush. Sorry for the duplicate model car thread, but I couldn't find the original, even using the search function.
