Awesome tech. Great step by step instructions, photowork and descriptions. This will be a great reference for anyone interesed in making their own hinges regardless of the make/model.

that is probably one of the most usefull tech threads of all time. I see it being pulled out and referred to for many years to come.
With slight modifications just about anyone handy with a few simple tools can come up with a set of hinges for a Model A or similar vehicle with exposed hinges.

Hey Mat- great tech article! It's definitely got my vote. You take something that seems unlikely that anyone would consider doing and explain it in a way that anyone should be able to do with common tools and equipment that we all have access to.
To me that is traditional hot rodding.

I am in awe. It never ceases to amaze me that people can overcome some of the issues that get in the way while one is attempting to piece together an old car from bits and pieces. Is there any way anybody can ***ist me with a pattern or a scale drawing of the hinge half that attaches to the a pillar? I have the door half, but not the pillar half.
    Thanks
    Michael

Tell me.... Why can't the Chinese do this? Great info. Can't wait to start on my new hinges.

Ahhh, Thanks! The few, the proud, THE CREATIVE! Nothing wrong with making your own parts and pieces from scratch!

That is what hot rodding is all about! Being creative and willing to get dirty!

Thanks Matt for the AWESOME Tech! Keep up the good work!
