Since this post was brought up again I'll give an update. After the sergury Rick was unable to speak and was paralized on his right side. He has made some progress but is still in intensive care. He has regained use of his right leg and has some movement in his right arm. His speech and thought process are still pretty limited however.
We expect the next step will be to move him to a rehab center either there in Cleveland or in the Cinncy area. Its still not clear how long he will remain there. We are just taking this one day at a time right now and are thankful for the progress he has made and hopeful he will continue to improve. Thanks for your continued positive thoughts and prayers.

The brain is quite amazing in how resiliant it is. Give him time. Best wishes to a full recovery.
