The wife insists on having the radio in the 46 WORK. Will an antenna IN the trunk work? Has anyone done this before I buy and run the antenna cable? Easier to run the cable than to find a new wife, she has been good. Puts up me, supports the hobby, and rides in the hot rod that you can't hear the radio while driving anyway. Thanks, Gary
Put it in the core support next to the radiator and stick an RCH out the grill. Make sure the mast can't TOUCH the grill or it'll ground out and not recieve a signal while it's grounded. Not as good as verticle but it works. They don't work well through a sheet of metal, like a trunk lid.
Try one of these.I heard they work pretty well. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-...5fElectronicsQ5fInstallation#ebayphotohosting
There are also hidden antennas that are a 2ft strip that double sided tapes anywhere ar the end of an antenna cable that plugs into your radio.
You can run them under the car anywhere as long as the base is grounded and the mast is insulated from ground. Jc whitney used to show pictures of them mounted behind the running boards, or behind the frame. Thats where I would pu ***.
