I threw out 2 vic20s 2 c64s, 2 floppy drives a color monitor and hundreds of disks/programs plus manuals and books because of space. (it was a shame cuz I leaned mcpooter skills on stuff like the TRS4 and Vic20 and then learned to dog it on windoze later.

I Wish you would have been passing thru about 6 months back.

What I really miss is the stacks of Johhny Cash and Buddy Jones 78's though...

Cause now I'm looking to recoup a lot of early country/blues.

    AHAHHA Yeah !

That book is the greatest book. Even better than the old Shelia Steinberg book. The funny thing is if you notice is that half of the really KILLER vintage is owned by like three dudes.. All are dealers are from the west coast and about a 1/4 of the jackets in the gabardine section were mine at one time.

It's a very small somewhat incestuous bitchy little circle at times.

Hawaiians / Aloha and rayon print shirts are just outta control now.

I think the internet is feeding this sickness we all seem to share.....

Hell Yeah seeing is your mug is plastered all over the front of my Vol.# 7 !!!

Never met the guy in person but he definitely has one of his biggest fans here in Milwaukee (me). All of his books are staples in my collection and have just an important place as the items themselves ..

The thing is the Old Rayon shirts are soo killer on so many levels.. the designs, the quality of manufacture, the quality of materials. That is the main reason why I started collecting was the Quality, that and it just was so cool.

I remember reading a "Street Rodder" that somebody gave me from back in the early 80's that they said the old rayon shirts from the 40's and 50's were the best to use for drying off your car because they were so silky and smooth they didn't leave any scratches.

Well at least I can wipe my ass with a street rodder mag from that era and not having to worry that it is worth it's weight in gold or use it to palette my pin-striping brush.

Ah the good old days of the mid to late 80's and early nineties when you could actually find stuff at thrift stores.
I didn't really start getting the cool stuff till like 92 or 93 and that was when all the Denim dealers were losing their butts on their huge stockpiles of denim.

Jet Rag you say??.... MAN you had a Mainline...... some of the stores in CAL still come out with a good line of vintage about once a month, but it is one ONE rack a month!!!!

Really rare stuff still commands a GOOD price but it's Rare. More so that a pair of Kinnamonts or a real Italmechannica. A lot of the good stuff is overseas or in private collections.

Seriously if you want to replace some of those shirts look into Sun-Surf Hawaiians from japan or any of the Japanese repro brands. Buzz Rickson / Toyo Industries / Real McCoy's / Dry Bones ..They are IT.

That and send those rayons this way! I'm a Med or a Med/Large.... they go to a good home.

I collect auto memorabilia like the rest of you. Especially 1/64th scale station wagons. Also have about forty 1/18th scale diecast cars, a couple thousand car magazines, etc........My wife and I also collect Greyhound Racing memorabila. We have two Greyhounds as pets and like to look for that stuff. I also had a very nice Morgan Silver Dollar collection but I got robbed and they took everyone one of them.

I build model cars. I have been doing this since a teenager. I have about 310 of them. Here is an example of what my wife will let me display. I sneak more in all the time. Hehehe.

Besides a few 1932 Ford parts and pieces ... I have a collection of 1932 state license plates ... just the lower 48 states because Alaska and Hawaii were not states in 1932. The most difficult 1932 tag to come up with IMHO is Arizona ... because they are copper. Most of the pre WWII Arizina tags went into the scrap metal drives of WWII.

    I have a real nice 1932 Arizona tag :)

eBay has made getting the 32 tags a lot easier ... so I have slowed down ... since working on the 32 3W ... and the challenge of finding the tags has dimished somewhat ... because it is so much easier.

I collect old books. Mostly old text books. I read most of them. Not sure why, as most of the information is completely out-dated. lol.

I also collect coins and stamps. And old stuff in general.

Oh, and of course the thing we all collect and should never stop collecting; knowledge!

Old West items-mostly pre 1900 and Indian beadwork as well--Also early Colts and Winchesters

  28. I like old surf decals too! Water decals or vinyl, I just like the old logos. I have an old longboard that the top is junk, I want to refinish the bottom and put these on it for a cool wallhanger. I have nowhere to hang it so there is no hurry.
