You mean his fathers car that he helped with. Sorry but it bugs me that Charlie has to try and usurp what his father has waited nearly fifty years to do.

The car is pretty damned cool on it's own. Paul has had that car nearly forever and has always put it on hold for his family and his career until retirement. Then it was about Charlies Mustang, 356, VW Notch, Starliner and the Ford two door wagon. All of which I feel would not have happened without Paul doing the heavy lifting on.

40% of the work? Please, don't try and bullshit me man. I'm not saying you didn't help but you sure as hell didn't build nearly half of your fathers car.

Probably the saddest thing I saw this weekend was Charlie driving his Fathers roadster into the GoodGuys show. I would never have taken that away from my father, never. No matter how much he insisted.

Your old man is far too nice. He is part of my family now, I would be honored to promote him and his accomplishments.

I'd post up some better pics, but I think the owner is really hoping to have the most impact for the car at the GNRS.
Craig built this, entirely (except upholstery) in his garage including paint with Ron Hernandez striping. Glen Kramer stitched up the AWESOME interior!

I had a great time out there and met some cool HAMBers like Glen, Craig, and Kirk to name a few. Also thanks to Steve for throwing the party at Industrial Chassis. Wish I could've stayed longer but it was a long weekend. Now lets stop the shit slinging and see some pics!

  6. If the owner of the car at the beginning of this thread is too embarassed by his drivetrain selection I will gladly absorb the ridicule and put it in my garage...nice car

  7. damn sorry guys If I had known I woulda not posted them either.....GLEN KRAMER??? if he's from Portland Oregon back in the 70s I went to high school(Jackson) with him,he had a kool 65 skylark

You could edit them out but honestly I wouldn't sweat it. It's not like nobody's ever seen it, it was just at a national show this weekend right?

  9. This thread is stupid and quite frankly a bit irritating. I am so sorry for adding to the drama but Charlie is almost my brother-in-law.

So attempt to save the thread and steer it into a positive direction, here is a random 30 minute stroll through the grounds. I really wanted to stop and take more pictures but I had to stop and BS with friends along the way!

Oh man, that's not a problem. If Craig didn't want people to see it, he wouldn't have entered it in the show! Glen and I are simply keeping it on the low down 'til then......

  11. And the very last picture I took is of Paul's Roadster..

That car is bitchin. I could care less if a car is fiberglass or aftermarket. A bithin car is a bitchin car.

Now.... Bobby Starks is the owner & his story about the car was awesome. What you can't see is the patterns on the hood & roof.

The quality of cars @ this show blows away this years pleasanton shows.
The show @ McDonalds on Saturday was sick. Hemi cars, 427 Galaxies, Talladega's you name it. The best part is these guys were driving them.

elpolacko, thanks for trying to save another wise useless thread. When I saw the title, I thought I was gonna see some good photos and then saw that a drama llama was in charge of the thread. Good thing I like popcorn.

Thanks again. Sometimes the best photos are the ones taken off the cuff.

  20. I agree!! Ive been building Hot Rods since the 50s and its always been "Different Strokes for Different Folks", what ever turns your crank, what makes your juices flow!!
Seen many fine cars there this year, as always, many high dollar and a lot of us "Backyard builders" that have fine cars. Not everyone is into "1 800 KIT CARS", however, thats the only way some will ever get a Rod, many just dont have the space, tools/equip and the skills to create them. This is what makes the hobby available to all who want to particpate. Keep em coming!!
BTW, thanx for the shot of the 40, get many, many great comments about the car and all its "Dinosaur" parts but some of us old farts and nostalgia freaks never quite got out of the 50s and wouldnt have it any other way, and still drive our "moderenized" Hot Rods Too, remember, the different strokes. Its a replica of what I would have driven in the 50s if time, space and money had been available. Class of 58! And fortunately I still have my 56 Olds powered 34 I drove then, hopefully to be back on the road soon, last driven in 61 just before Uncle Sam got me.

i would love to see a pic of your olds powered 34. I sold a 34-5-window with a 390 caddy / hydro trans back in 01. My stupidity amazes me sometimes still sick about the loss.
