When I went to coffee this morning at 6AM I was thinking how cool it was to still be driving the coupe, it was 19F no wind and the ride was great. While I was there it started snowing, our first this year. Well it started coming down pretty good so I thought I better get going before the salt starts getting spread. Boy was it icey, better than an E ticket at Disneyland. The salt truck just went by so the coupe is done for the year, and a good year it was.

Nice little coupe...and a good "before and after" contrast with the avatar and this pic. Glad you got home safe!

...I'm hopin for more good weather to drive my cars, it's been a good summer but I still wanna drive em some more. Had my 47 pickup out for a drive yesterday, only 32 degrees but sunny and not windy....and no snow!

...you should make your Xmas cards from that photo.

Nice coupe, and a good pic.........I do not envy you, though........Winter is descending on many of us.......no snow here at the Shore yet, but it has gotten pretty damn cold pretty damn fast!!

Time to start the Winter projects I guess............. <sigh>

I'm glad you kept the shiny, er primer side up on that slippery drive home! I'd say you squeezed every last minute of driving time out of it for the season, huh?

  14. Still want to drive my truck some more, but yet I am ready to play in the snow some. Usually I don't like the snow but I'm kinda looking forward to it this year, don't know why.

Move to Texas! You can drive it all "winter". Supposed to be 75 degrees here today, with a cold front coming in later in the week. Highs will be in the 60s.

Great picture. Nice coupe. I drove the T to a buddy's shop yesterday to replace the rear main seal. was about 40 degrees when I went and 60 on the trip home.

Suppose to be 69 this afternoon so I may get it out again cause the bottom is suppose to fall out tonight. high tomorrow in high 40's.

There is something about pictures of hot rods in the snow that just looks right.

Cool pic , back in 60 had snow tires on my 37 to get to work. Worked good cause I could pull out in hi-gear to keep down wheel spin. hank

You couldn't find a big parking lot for rooster tails and broadsides? It's sooo much fun in the snow. You don't have to worry as much about breaking anything.:D You missed some good grins action.:D

What is the point in having all that salt spread all over your yard and car? Does it make it faster?

Man that is a cool picture - no pun intended. The contrast of the black coupe against all the white with a bit of red just popping out is right on!

  24. It only means that by the time the salt goes into use in Michigan our hot rod options are pretty much done for the season.... Short poem to winter:

    Winter.

    Shit, it's cold out.

    The end.

Coupster will have to speak for himself regarding Bonnevile.

Personally I don't think I'll be around long enough to let the Bonneville salt worry me much. Even if I go another 20 years it's just rust. Hell, maybe I'll rust out! My estate can sell the cars cheaper and some body will get a car or two to fix.

Nice shot in any event. Hard to believe I drove the track roadster over to the Ionia Hot Rod Shop just 2 weeks ago.

Great pic. Let me guess, you put the Harley away too. I thought you northern Michigan guys were supposed to be so tough:D That happened to me in March this year. I went to get a bottle of propane. On the way home it started snowing like crazy. No big deal but I don't have side glass, wipers, and I got that big hole in the roof. Made for some fun driving home though.

Our first snow and salt came just the other day too, no more driving for me either.

We got hit Sat night, Sun, Mon and yesterday alittle. None today. I had the caddy out yesterday for a beer run. Not enough white junk to plow the road with it so, it's all good.

  28. Righteous looking coupe, Coupster. Neat foto also. Looks so good I saved it to my files.
