I just put on a new No Limit front end on my 56 Ford pick-up, which entailed welding in a new cross member and engine mounts. Everything seem exactly the same when we measured (50 times), but now it seems the engine is about 2 inches too high, causing the transmission to touch the floor boards.

Question is, does anyone know of a motor mount bracket (attached to the engine) that will drop the engine a couple inches. Seems simple enough to fabricate, just wondering if the are manufactured.

I am trying to avoid removing the motor mounts we welded in and recutting them, and welding them back on.

    Thanks in Advance.

No Limit should rename their company "No Talent" or maybe "No Fitment".. absolutely the worst POS stuff out there.. I don't even want to remember the hell I went through with one of their "kits"....

If you can post some good pictures there are a lot of smart people (not me) on here that will figure something out.

  7. There are a couple of different heights of Ford motor mounts. I think the difference is only about 1" -1 1/2" or so though. A little research with the parts store ought to get you an answer.

Still no luck, I haven't been able to find out the drop from one plate to the next.

Anyone else have any suggestions, or info on adjustable or drop motor mounts/

    Thanks.

You're probably gonna have to put up some good detailed pictures of it so we can see what you're dealing with. We'd just be guessing....

Take a look at circle track or NASCAR type mounts. You should be able to get your needed drop. I'm not sure if they make them for a 302 though, but it would'nt hurt to check it out. Also, try different types of 302 mounts, Ford made many different types for different cars using the 302.

thank you all for your help. We decided that the best and cheapest solution is to buy and modify some standard mounts.
