I don't like wires or whistles in my tail pipe - period. But, hey, that's just me.

wow, you have some real fruitcakes over there!
ive seen some lame **** on cars here but thats just takes the cake.
i bet these guys are rite into plastic hubcaps and seat belt pads too.
dunno about there but here in australia in the 50's and 60's the thing to do was to fit a lukey brand sports muffler with a copper tail pipe, the copper was supposed to make the car sound louder but the cops cleaned it up and its never seen anymore.

I love noisey exhausts myself ,but dont get me wrong guys.I dont get into the whole whistle tips or fart cans on a 4 cylinder.I am into split maifolds on 6's ,zoomies ,cutouts ,steel packs ,etc. I run open headers on my daily with homeade megaphones i made from some cutup gl*** pack cases .It has always been an interest of mine about exhaust sound and its as important to me on my car as the wheels / tires and stance .Way more important than paint or interior.I just thought the old timers story was neat and wanted to see if there was any truth to it."Ya'lls feel me" ???

I've heard this from some old timers down here as well. They reckon you get a much sharper crackle with a copper system. I haven't heard one so I can only go on what I've been told. Seems it reacts badly with exhaust fumes and thats why the cops canned it, not sure tho'

Between fart-cans and brown notes.. I almost wet myself watching that!
Kids (never me ) around here MANY years ago used to take a foot of bicycle tire inner-tube, cut 8" slits in it, stretch the uncut end over the tail-pipe of some unsuspecting persons exhaust (the CARs exhaust! sheesh!).
Man, you talk about fart can? It was the intimate raspberry.
    Ah.. good times.

...And here, all this time, I thought noisy exhaust was a by product of Power, and that we were supposed to try NOT to piss off the neighbors....

    I hate people.

My dad also told me about the piano wire in the tailpipe story said him and a couple of his buddies used to have them in their tailpipes and that the only way it would brwak gl*** was you had to have the rpms up and the resonance would shatter gl***.

Yeah it does seem a bit far-fetched. This would probably be a good one to submit to Mythbusters.

I AM from Missouri. But I've been known to take someone at their word...

But only if they're a chick.

    And they're hot.

Hey, wait a minute... that's how I get into trouble! :D
