maybe im just finally coming to my senses, i have a 31 ford sedan with a Chrysler 400 big block brand new 727tf chopped top newer tires have but not installed tunnel ram with dual edelbrock 650s brand new lake headers and a set of close chamber heads lil rust in the wheel wells nothing to scary basically im shipping to boot camp come February 2nd have bills stacking up now and dont have the time to put the new trans and stuff together and then just have it sit around for a few years so anyone have a ballpark of what its worth?
I like it but the hardest part about these things is finding the right person that really wants it... The price will really depend on who's interested. I've seen worse looking stuff sell for 8-10k on ebay but thats just my 2 cents
My Dad was an antique dealer for 40 years. He always said "It's worth what you can get for it" I know that's not much help, but maybe you could offer it in the cl***ified for a best offer, or even Ebay.
I had something simular a few years ago and it didn't meet the reserve. You can part it out and sell off the pieces on ebay. You would be surpriced what there all worth.
It sounds like you're asking because you think if it's worth only a certain amount, that you'll keep it, but if it's worth more than you think, you'll sell it. So if that's the case, maybe you could put it on egay with a minimum price that you'd let it go for, or a "reserve" amount, and then if it doesn't sell for at least that, you can just keep it and work on it when you come back in a few years. Since the economy is in the dumper now, it seems like old cars aren't going for as much as they would have a year ago. It might be worth more in a couple of years if the economy picks up better than it is now. There are lots of guys losing jobs and selling their projects now, so it doesn't seem like the greatest time to put something up for sale. But if you need the dough now, you gotta do what you gotta do I guess. Good luck to you in the military.
i really dont know what it is worth, i know what i have into it but like we all know that doesnt mean jack
id put it up on ebay with a high reserve so you can see what people bid on it, without selling for less than you want, and then adjust accordingly
SORRY GUYS IF YOUR ON HERE! went by a local hot rod club that meets by a local burger place and asked if anyone was looking for a 31 sedan 2 guys were interested and followed me home and were just telling me how ruff it was and would be at least 5k in body work before you could even think about painting it defintly more boyd c type rodders i thought it was hilarious
What he said; Store it for a year, then decide, because whatever you sell if for will be gone in a week and a year from now you will still be in the same financial situation you are in now;;' UNLESS, you change your lifestyle. If you do that then you don't need to sell the car. UNLESS, you hate the car. But, if you love the car, you'll find a way to keep it. The answer to the following question is really none of my business, but is there somebody in the picture that's encouraging the getting rid of this car, or was it all your idea. Rethorical Q, not really wanting to know. I just encourage people that have a lot of sweat into something they love to do to sleep on any decision like this. Go look at this, isn't that fun? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpo8RDyOEWY
I sold 2 g***ers before I went in the Army in '64. A '65 Chevy and an Anglia that was in the building stage. I would have been cool to have at least one when I got to my permanent station 40 miles from the Cecil County Maryland drag strip.
