Any guesses what engine it has? generator drives off the front gearcase and has a shaft out the back to the water pump. You can kinda see it in the pic.

Pretty handy engine for homebuilt, must not have been the same dude that built the rest of the tractor.

  4. That steering gear would make a tits cowl steering set-up. I would put that half a slab of Model T body on it, get it running, and call it a story.

I think the steering is a T truck rear end, or something similiar. Tractor has 2 transmissions and an International truck rear end. Dig the light that shines on the ground, it still has the glass in it. I guess that was for following the plow furrow at night. There are no other lights.

I'd look into that. I just noticed the wide fives on the tricycle front.

There's a whole bunch of junk there. I plan to get all/most of it. Here's more, mostly chevy and some T.

Looks like a majority of that thing is Dodge. The engine probably is too.

MAN that is too cool. I love the rear axle that is used as a steering box. Id take it home and call me crazy RESTORE back to a hackjob tractor!

when I was a kid growing up on the farm, there were still a very few old jalopy tractors around. Some were geared for slow motion in the woods pulling logs and some had road gears and would go 40+ mph. Scary.

I think the light is just turned to the rear. I bet there is another on the other side. It would be likely conclusion that the light pointing down would be to illuminate the furrow, but it would not be normal to be looking directly down from the seat. But what difference does that make?

Would be a cool ride for when you get busted for DUI. Saw lots of that going on, too.

Looks to be '26-'28 DB four cylinder, cowl vent . HAMBer Rich Fox wants these engines. The coupe in the backround might be part of it. Do you have a better pic of the fenders from the coupe?

The coupe is a 26-27 T. I thought the light just fell down too but it is mounted solid and there is no way it can be swiveled up. If I get the tractor I would like to get it running and just leave it like it is, maybe a new platform and a seat. With the dual transmissions it would make a great parade vehicle.

Is the coupe backend a Chevy? The front fenders view is the same car.

The generator also serves as the starting motor. My 26 Graham Bros truck is all dodge running gear and appears the same. 12 volt by the way.

  23. The "coupe" is actually a '28 Chevy sport coupe, had a canvas top and decorative irons on the sides. Kisam has a '27 that she is putting back together as a survivor.

Willowbilly, find a pic of ANY DB four cylinder. All the four's fenders have a telltale raised area from front to back.

This one has a starter on the other side, rear mounted in the traditiona fashion.

  26. My neighbor across the street growing up had a tractor like that he used into the 90s... it had a plow blade on the front if I remember right, and was made out of a 49-52 Chevy. Body to it may still be in the woods there for all I know.

That would be fun to put back together pretty close to the way it probably was.
I could just visualize wheeling into an antique farm equipment meet with it.
As they say necessity is the mother of invention and that rig shows a lot of invention in digging around the scrap pile to come up with something that a guy could put to use.

How are the front wheels axled to the vertical 'steering' rod?

I'll bet there's 8 or 10 pounds of welding rod involved.
