Man, I really like this board. I finally joined and hope everyone can put in thier 2 cents about my project. I am building a 51 chevy "farm truck" style p/u. Thats the only way I could put it because it is surely not a rat truck and not a trailer queen I plan to run a 5 speed and a rearend from a s-10 and disk brakes up front. dropped traditionally, no bags. I plan to build a 235 to drop in at a later date, but will run the 216 for now. The 235 will have 2 strombergs with a header. Probably Fenton manifolds. 12 volt system and dual reservior master cylinder. That is all. This will be a daily driver so it needs to be dependable as well as cool. I will post pics as soon as I get them........
My first order of business is to find an adapter plate for the trans to the motor. If anyone has info on where to get one, let me know.....thanks
Yeah...im leaving the body stock. It was origionally blue. It was a delivery truck for an ice company in New Mexico. They painted it green and put thier logo on the side. It has been sitting up for around 25 years so the green and the logo has faided and some of the blue shows through. PERFECT. I will straighten the dents and primer the bare metal and run it. Good bit of rust in the usual places...that will be fixed.
