How do you shoot a lace job? Is it similar to a flake where you shoot it as a mid coat?

Spray basecoat, lay down lace, spray another colour basecoat. Do a search or go through vondust's posts.

That is one sweet Cuda! There are some real works of art on this posting. I wish I could paint as good as some of the painters that did these cars.

Here are some helmets I've done in flakes, kandies, and lace. Nobody has ever let me loose on their car. I've done lots of chopper tins w/ metalflakes and kandy paint but 99% of it is sent to me. Most car guys around here are pretty conservative.....

  18. NO! You misunderstood my comment. I was just stating that I saw it at Mooneyes a few years ago, parked in the middle of the street cause there were so many cars. There were cars parked on the sidewalk, driveways, everywhere. Saw it again at the GNRS in the building with all the lowriders. If you go back and read what I put, there's NOTHING that would give you any reason to take offense!

  22. All of the mentioned paint styles in one. Front and back views, and as a bonus an engine shot and in competition at the Old Sturgis (Kiwanis) Drag Strip (Kentucky, not South Dakota) that was an old concrete air strip.

All the paint styles AND a vynil top!

Not that I'm a fan of vynil tops, but I don't think I've ever seen one on a 55-57...

  25. Actually, vinyl tops were semi-popular on tri-5s in the late 60s. Most were sprayed on, rather than glued on vinyl.
