    Hi all...

I've been fixing up a vintage hot rod from the early 1950's and the pictures below show the transmission and adapter plate that attached it to the Ford Flathead V8. I've also attached pictures of the car it came from - a 1953 fiberglass kit car called a "Grantham Stardust".

The tranmission appears to have overdrive and it's a sideshift.

Can anyone help ID this transmission?

    Thanks for any help

    Geoff

Thanks for the quick reply gang. I was calling the "silver bell housing" the adapter.

I've got one of those with that super long tail shaft housing. Someone told me it was from a '58 Edsel or something. Anybody need it?

Sounds good. Thanks for the confirmation. Ford 1949-1953 3 speed with overdrive. Much appreciated. Geoff

Glad you liked...it's one of those fairly unknown kit cars from 1953.

Much more stylish than the Venus whose hometown is the east side of Houston.
