    well we've got a thread for dragsters, g***ers, longroofs, etc etc lets start one up just for bonneville roadsters, don't really care what cl***, street roadster, roadster, modified roadster, rear engine, but lets keep this one to actual race cars only. era doesn't really mater much either so lets call it 30's through current.

    post up your pictures, if you know the owner/ drivers name try and include that as well.

    here's the one's i've shot over the last few years, since i got a digital camera, i'll try and scan some pre digital pictures and post them up in awhile too.

    Great thread, thanks. Always great to see older pics. So crude builds back then. Much more go then show.

    Now please start a thread just like this but for coupes and sedans.

    I've got literally hundreds of pics of Lakes Roadsters (from 1970 to present) ... but I'll start by posting these two pics of friends B'ville roadsters:

    [IMG]
    #333 - Varni*Walsh*Walsh*Cusack AA/SR (circa 1986)

    The (Dennis) Varni - (Tom) Walsh - (John) Walsh - (Tom) Cusack "333" 1932 Ford Roadster has set numerous records at Bonneville ... and put 4 different drivers (Dennis Varni, Tom Walsh, John Walsh, & Justin Walsh) into the 200MPH Club!

    The car is the current record holder in three cl***es ...

    * AA Blown Street Roadster (AA/BSTR): 232.621 mph - Tom Walsh in 1991
    * A Blown Street Roadster (A/BSTR): 238.060 mph - Justin Walsh in 2002
    * B Blown Street Roadster (B/BSTR): 241.137 mph - Justin Walsh in 2008

    333's power has always been supplied by Cub Barnett prepared super-charged Chevrolet engines.

    In 2006, the "333" roadster was named one of the "75 Most Significant '32 Ford Hot Rods".

    NOTE: After Speed Week 1990, Dennis Varni left the partnership to pursue other racing endeavors ... In 1991 & 1992, Chet Thomas was a partner (& driver) of the car ... Tom Cusack and the Walsh family still run the car today.

    $um Fun AA/GR (circa 1995)

    The (Chuck, Frank & Martha) Salmen Racing "$um Fun" 1934 Ford Roadster has set numerous records ... and put both Chuck & Frank Salmen into the 200MPH Club!

    The car is the current record holder in two cl***es ...

    * AA Unblown Fuel Roadster (AA/FR): 263.781 mph - Frank in 2003
    * AA Unblown Gas Roadster (AA/GR): 258.924 mph - Chuck in 2002

    The car has also run at El Mirage and Lake Gairdner (South Australia).

    NOTE: The "$um Fun" roadster was sold not too long ago ... look for it under a new moniker (Mariani Racing) @ B'ville in 2009 or 2010.
