Well my good buddy Chadillac here on the HAMB came over Friday and we got some more done on the Truck:D. I was going to use the orig bed but after looking at it again, decided to use some Ford bedsides I have had laying around a couple of years. Thought they were too far gone but I think they worked out fine. Me and Chad cut them down and made a frame and got it set up on the rear and it looked pretty good, (to me). Thanks again Chadillac!!
Today I decided to finish mounting the bed frame to the truck frame. got that done and decided to notch the truck frame rails to accomidate the cool Int Farmall tank I found for it. I had to fish plate the frame at the top of the kick and take a little over a 1/4 inch out of the inside of the frame so the tank would set in between the rails. got that done and decided to get the Olds grill bar bar I had been saving for this project and get it to fit the rear. Also going to make tail lights in it. Got it all mocked back up to see how it all looked so I thought I would post some more pics. So here we go!!

Great work on your build! I am at about the exact same point that you are in your build or your maybe a little further and am hoping for the same drive date. spring.

I was just wondering how you were going to mount your body to the frame? Are you just welding it to the frame or are you going to use a body mount kit? If you could post some pics that would be great.

I made mounts, you can see some of them in the floor pics and if you can look at my last update it shows more of them. There is 16 body to frame mounts (over kill!) but the first 6 I did just weren't very well done so I added 2 more and then when I built the floor skeleton I made 8 more mounts:eek::eek:

Okay, I finished the bumper and tailgate panels, I guess and was workong on the bed cover. Its an old Barn door cut up to fit the bed, thought it kinda kept with the theme of the truck:D. I made a frame out of 1/2" square tubing for the wood to mount to and am going to hing it at the tank and will make a large compartment right at the back, like a trunk, sorta:rolleyes:. The battery will also be mounted back beside the tank on the passenger side in another compartment. Here are the latest pics, let the ridicule begin!:D

That bed cover does the job, and it'll substiture as a work bench. I like your truck.

I was with ya, right up to the bed cover. I'm not so sure about the wood. Nice job on the truck.

  23. Would a big pvc plastic plug work for a cap ?? Like a sink clean out maybe ?

Very Cool binder. I hope to see it out at the shows in the upcoming summer. I just started building a two door woody out of my 1935 International grill and cowl. That was all that was left after a life in the midwest, so I had to do something with the good parts that was left over. Again it is looking damn good.

I finally figured out how to load pictures so here is the cardboard mockup to figure out how much material will be needed. We are not using the slots and it will be on air ride in the rear and on sprint car torsion bar setup in the front with a dropped axle. The rendering was in Traditional Rod and Kulture Illustrated and is used with Zombies permission

You know, I struggled with that as well. With the Kick up being less than 2" from the top of the bed I had to do something. Open for other ideas, but it has to be covered and something shinny and new wouldn't look right either?

Thanks for your insight, however I did find an original IHC cap just yesterday. Oh, and I still plan on mounting a BIG RUBBER RAT next to the tank:p

Hey Toast this might be a little crazy but what if you took some hay bales and cut them into three sections and then poured a resin/urethane over the hay to seal it and placed the 1/3 sections in the bed to give the illusion of a regular bed hauling hay and they could be mounted to the top of your wood bed cover.
