Put the kettle on. Make yourself a nice brew. Sit down and click on the link. select the first pic and then select slideshow. relax. The first batch of Glen Montgomery's vintage pics are now available for viewing. This is about 50% of what I have. If any of you know Mike Siewert, he kindly send me a fresh disk of the pics after I lost them from my site. Some of these are from the Pomona Winternationals 1965. Others are from various car shows and other drag events. Look out for the Tiexiera willys, Don Garlits and the Uncertain T. These pics are bigger than when they were on my site, and I have tried to enhance them where I could. http://s279.photobucket.com/albums/kk134/martsrods/web/glenmblack/ Mart.
Awesome pics Mart, thanks for sharing! That deuce five window with the blown Olds is tasty! and this orange deuce with the Americans and six deuce sbc!! Very cool!
That orange 32 was the car I'd most like to cruise in too. Lots of neat tin there. I wonder how much if it is still with us? I know I recognize several of them as still being on earth.
Enjoyed the old stuff. Good to see Jack CHRISMANS COMET, the first fuel funny car. They made him run B fuel dragster,as there was no other cl*** for him at that time. He didnt know how that car would change the course of drag raceing.
That's a nice collection. Did anyone notice that Dan Collins wife's ride was in there? http://s279.photobucket.com/albums/kk134/martsrods/web/glenmblack/?action=view¤t=gm_00081.jpg
I was at the '65 Winternationals - made it from Tri-Cities, WA to LA in about 14½ hrs. The races were great, but it rained Fri and Sat and they pretty much had to hold everything on Sunday. Great time anyway - sure was nice to see some pics. I took a few of my own, but have no idea where they are now. Wow what a neat flashback. Some of those cars are just awesome and some, not so much. But it was great to see them all.
I'm only on page two and loving that '55-'56 g***er style Chev pickup, similar to an illustration Frieburger had in RandC a few years back! Thank you for taking time to share!
