plymouth flathead electronic ignition

    Haaaaaalp!!!! does anyone know if there is an aftermarket electronic ignition foe a plymouth flattie any ideas will help!

    Check with "Mart" here on the Hamb. He makes a box that lets you use your points in the original dizzy just as a trigger. Don't know what result you are after, but this takes the points out of the load carrying business to make conventional ignition more reliable.

    You can also adapt the electronic ignition by mopar using the Slant Distributor with that set up. You need to do a bit of machining on the dist and change the drive tang. also need to run 12v Neg ground.

    Check Pertronix, they are suppose to have electronic ignitions for 6V systems.

    They have 6V for Volkswagen only. Spent an hour on the phone with them.

    Pertronix has one for a M***ey Harris combine engine Chrysler block same dist. and the catalog says its availabel in 6V +.

    I just ordered

    Petronix #1561P6

    6 volt 6 Cylinder. I will let you know if it works!

    Update the Petronix doesn't work due to it being postive ground. Needs to be negative ground. Custom order from Petronix

    Petronix definately has one, I have it in mine. I'll try to find the part number. It's a simple install, and works like a charm!

    I have talked to them several times. I would love to see what you have.

    Here is what they are having issues finding.

    218 Flathead 6
    6 volt negative ground.

    Plymouths are positive ground. Unless you modified it.
