This may sound really stupid, but, I am in need of help. Does any one know of any sites or places to go to find the specs on shocks. I have lowered my daily driver, and the shocks from the "kit" are just too stiff. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Cory
Are you sure it's not the springs that are too stiff? usually they need to be stiff, to keep the car from bottoming out.
ok.... I don't know of any places with the damping specs on shocks, they only have mounting dimensions. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=151093
Gabriel's pdf catalog http://www.gabriel.com/do***ents/2006_catalog/2006%20Gabriel%20Catalog%20final%20Reduced.pdf Cross reference the number on your kit shocks using the monroe or gabriel catalog, to the car they fit, then pick out a shock for a lighter car but having similar shock dimensions. Whether a front of rear shock shouldn't matter as long as it fits.
