Is anybody familiar with the valspar line of basecoats? The "zenith" lines are 333& 999. I can get a gallon for 141 compared to dupont chroma for 327.00 The 999 is a 141.00 a gall & the 333 is 119.00. Thanks

No experience with it BUT Valspar owns House of Kolor. Food for thought.

matrix isnt that bad ur right. ive been spraying the stuff for neaarly 3 years. their kustom fx line is pretty much a copy of hok. it sprays very much like ppg and the clears are nice and around 100 bucks a gallon kit. very cost effective alternative to the major brands.

Ive used both Valspar and De Beers . Personally I prefer the De Beers it lays down better then the Valspar but is a few dollars more.

Maybe go with Dupont Nason. Paint compaines wouldnt be in bussiness if they didnt make a good product. i like using dupont very forgiving and easy to use. and is sold everywhere.

I don't know about the Zenith line per se. but I bought a gallon of Valspar and it was 290+/- from our jobber. Sprayed extremely well. Cleared it with HOK UC35 and looks like gl*** with no cut & buff needed. I was happy that day.

i use it ..333 is a 1 to 1 mix with the 161 ,or 2 so if ya buy a gallon you are getten 2 gallons mixed works well..

the 999 is there new line its 2 to one it uses the urathane reducer 171,2,3 you get less on the mix it costs more but it covers better ..

go with the 333 i you will like it ..
there ac 200 clear is very good to ..

For a low priced paint you can't beat valspar, I have sprayed both the 333 and the 999 and I love the 999, lays down nice and covers better than ppg, dupont, and most all other high end paints. The clears are great too, my only complaint is their sealers and primers, they are tinted and are a pain to sand, the colorant clogs up 320 grit paper.

not really rip off they move some of there products to a lower line diffrent can and sell them cheaper for example

the dupount v 7500 clear is now nasons 496 clear
and the primer nason has is dupounts old uro primer
matrix does the same thing ..
one bad thing about nason base coats .there catalized so once you mix it its no good you get waste that way ..
try out mar -hydes 2 -k been useing it on theses gas pumps and this suff is like sprayable body filler sands great wet sands great and the biuld is amazing .
