I wanna keep it low and level, and not so stiff of a ride. What kind of leaf springs would you fellas recommend? Any dimensions/sizes/lengths would help me out on my quest. Anybody with a 47-53 chevy got any advice? Thanks in advance for the replies guys. jimbo
I bought a kit from PICK-UPS NORTHWEST at 1-360-568-9166. Comes with new wide leaf springs, perches, u bolts, shakels and gromets, shocks and all mounts. Lowers the truck several inches and centers the rear wheel in the fenderwell. I've had mine for about 8 yrs. and no problems. Rides pretty well also. Hope this helps.
Remember to notch the ch***is if you are going anymore than about 4". You can make notch kits pretty easy or get them from CPP. I am going to fit 4" blocks to mine soon and drive it like that for a while, maybe go four link and coilovers to get it low. Thought about bags though I know all my mates will say that bags are for shopping. Depending on how it rides on the leaves with lowering blocks will decide, got some rough roads round here!
I would try Ch***is Engineering or Eaton springs, I have used both companies and had good luck, Hotrodhill
i used 1990 ford ranger leafs, shackles and hangers. i boxed the insides of the frame rails and put them as high as they'd go. then c notched it. easy and CHEAP. had 70 bucks in them. rode great.
