48 ford 4 speed

    i just got a 48 ford f5. i know it has a 4 speed trans, but i dont know if it is the syncronized or not. is there any way to tell visually. thanks in advance

    Those were about the most difficult transmissions ever made to shift. Even double clutching, they clash. If you want to keep the truck as a heavy truck, there are later light duty truck five speeds that have fifth over. Look for something from 53 to 64.

    im not keepin it a heavy truck. i just wanted to know incase i decide to sell the engine and trans. i only got the truck for the body.
     
  5. The non-snyc is a Warner T-9,,,quite short, with a reverse flipper,,,I could use the speedo gears from that,,,,,,,,,
