yeah, that was a fun weekend! The site that had the video is gone now, unfortunately

The Vettes always had tachs, they were driven by the generator in the early years, then by the distributor, then when they went to HEI in 75 the tachs were electronic instead of cable drive.

from a 1959 chevy owners manual:

"On 8 cylinder models, fill hinge cap oiler with light engine oil every 1000 miles. Every 5000 miles, the distributor cap should be removed and 1/2 drop of light engine oil applied to breaker lever pivot. Do not use any lubricant on cam lubricator wick, replace wick when contact points are replaced."

Keep in mind that you were supposed to be in there changing the oil and lubing the ch***is every 1000 miles.....

I guess the economy going south caused the advertising money to dry up....but DF started up a [new site, and he might have to get a day job.

Those electronic tach dirive distributors seem to be worth something these days. I bought a couple for $10 each a couple years ago from someone who didn't know that.

Dug my old cast iron delco out last weekend that I converted to a pre-oiler
back in high school 30 some years ago.Still using it to prime engines, but you
made me look up the #. 1110987 2C26 traces back to 1962 327's (all).
The 57 chevy delivery I bought in high school came loaded to the gills with
all his spare stuff, and probably were it came from.
