I will be buying a 52 cadillac sunday,I bought the air cleaner off it a few weeks ago, only 20.00 and decided to get the rest of the car,300.00,its a four door, retired after the old guy that owned it p***ed away, and his wife held on to it for a few years until the junkman came and got it.It supposidly ran when he parked it.It does turn over by hand, and looks clean and all there.I dont know much about them,Would this be a 331?Is the ****** and rearend worth running also?I am still trying to decide what to use for my plymouth coupe, and cant find a decent older mopar motor. Its pretty rusted, the frontend is all there,HUGE dags, rear bumper is good, dash and wheel all there,so I should be able to get my money back,so I'm only out time to go get it.Any info would be greatly appreciated.Patrick
Should be a 331" and Hydro. Good motor, though not too powerful as built. But that can be fixed; do a search on the HAMB for Cad information. Marcus and others posted some good stuff a few months back. They were a well designed motor (other than the partial-flow oil filtration system) using top-of-the-line materials. And the Hydro is the best early automatic you'll find, even if it is a heavy old beast.
Are they Strong??? Does a Wild Bear **** in the forrest??..YES!!!!!!!!! they have alot of meat around the cylinders that can allow for over 1/4" overboring!!! try that with a Chevy!!They are very well designed engines..
