If it is the ones I'm thinking he will use, we picked them up at The Chrome Shop truck stop in Effingham on the way back from the HAMB drags.

If you have never stopped at one of those joints while traveling, you don't know what you are missing.
Those places along the interstate are our downfall when it comes to making good time on a roadtrip. hahaha

It may cost some time, but thats usually where the best stuff is tucked away at! Just like that diner in route to the pile-up.

Any idea how much you're gonna chop the car? Gonna sink the stock gl*** or use 49-50 ford gl***?

All this and nobody mentioned that Von Dust inherited his talent from his lovely mother, RunAroundSue. These are great folks. I had the pleasure of meeting them at Hunnert and caught up with Sue again at Bubba's. I wish the rest of the "community" we as respectful as this family. Congrats, Dustin on the publicity. And don't worry, mum is the word on that little slip of your tongue from Friday night at Hunnert. Don't remember, ask Mom and Dad. Has something to do with baseball.

Now you remember me don't you!

    Again, congrats

Thanks guys. I ran across this thread tonight and I thought to myself, "Damn, this is kind of cool". Like I said, I still Pin Stripe on the side everynow and then. But you know how life is. Full time job, other side jobs, helping buddies out with their cars, car shows, road trips, hanging out, renting out a shop down the road to work in, and even trying to find enough time to work on my own car while setting time aside to help dad out the best I can with his hot rods and customs.
Thank god I can't play sports. I remember when I was about five years old, my dad (MercDeuceman) and I were tossing a base ball back and forth and I ****ed at it. He told me "Maybe you ought to stick with cars because we're not getting anywhere here."
For everyone that has given me a chance, and has helped me out in some sort of way, I thank you very much.
Below is my myspace url, if you want to know more, or those who don't know me at all, check it out.

Good to see this thread brought back to life. It's re***uring to see the young guns in this hobby doing so well and staying true to their roots. When us old poops are pushing up daises these kids are the ones that will carry on the hobby for us. Encourage the young folks whenever you can.

I just dont get your general at***ude, You come off like you've been laying lines for 50 years. I have to agree with 00 Mack 100% . Hell your not even 25 yet , you might be good and whatnot and have been in magazines , but what you havent done is put in the time that the masters of the brush have . Thats it plain and simple

MDM-- Yes, you are correct, It IS that plain and simple. You sound like an interesting guy. I love old Ford trucks, maybe we will meet someday and be able to talk about cars.

DARN busted nuckles, don't get your ******* in a twist!!!:D Did you forget to take your meds or get them mixed up???
All we are trying to do is give some encouragement to one of our young friends. Heck, Dustin's not even 21 yr.old yet. He shows more interest and ap***ude than about 99 per cent of the other young guys I know.
How 'bout a little bit of encouragement for the young guns instead of being a hater. (Sorry about the tone of this post Ryan) We need to keep our young guys motivated...not dump on them. I guess I'm done now. Back to your regularly scheduled program.

There is no age limit on talent. Sure he doesn't have the years of knowledge that the masters have but then nobody is calling him a master, just a great up and coming talent.

    Crawl back under your rock!:rolleyes::D

Hmmm... I don't percieve any at***ude from the guy. And he seems pretty cool.

You see someone that acts like he's been striping for 50 years:rolleyes:, I see someone who acts like he's been striping almost half his life;).

BK, be cool - we need more young people like Dustin - and his parents (I went to HS with his mom & dad) they are a great folks and are always willing to help out fellows car people any way they can. At***ude like yours is why we have so few young people attend our events - and why our hobby is dying a slow death. We need to change now and quickly.

In this case its your at***ude thats hard to understand!!!

The kids living a dream of what many of us wished we could have lived when we were that age.
I cant even begin to relate to your post above. I am 59 years old AND one of Dustins friends . So does this make me a master ???

This hobby needs all the youth we can round up.
Take a deep breath and go fishing or something!!!

Thanks Bubba, we had a nice talk about this particular subject this morning at breakfast.

Busted Knuckles- Wanna go fishing? ... sounds like fun :D

There's a handful of young guys here in Indy that share the same lifestyle as me, you, and many others. It would be nice to get more young guys interested into old hot rods and custom cars. But its hard, as you guys well know. So take your blinders off and help the youth that are getting into this 'hobby'. Don't just push us away because you think we are 'punks' or something. Most of my best friends are in their 50's - 60's, GMC Bubba, Tom Culbertson, and my dad (Mercdeuceman) included. So before you jump my *** because I may know as much if not more than some guys on this board about hot rods and customs, do your research. ;):)

Who knows, we might run into eachother at an event, talk for hours and be good friends... you never know.

BK, It's all good. Sometimes hard to read voice inflection, etc. on a computer screen. At the end of the day, we are still all car guys.

Ryan, This has been beat to death. Can we shut down this thread and move on?
