decided to make a intake instead of buying one, now i can put the money twords an 81cfm carby. still need to clean it up and grind some welds down, here it is so far.
"Make sure you figure out how to heat it before your first ride." The lake header im building is going to mount directly under it, I think heating shouldnt be a big problem.
"That silver paint is the****s! Mine only has it on the head..." We're engine twins! ha. thats rust nuetralizer I sprayed the block with. but the silver was all over before and still in spots.
Rust neutralizer? Sounds kinda***** to me..Of course, you ARE the type to actually replace the head gasket on an engine that's been sitting in a tweekers' garage for 30 years..
"Of course, you ARE the type to actually replace the head gasket on an engine that's been sitting in a tweekers' garage for 30 years.." Haha, cant be havin acorns and dead mice floating around. If it was a v8 id say***** it.
That does it. I've been puttiong of building a banger. Putting it off. Putting it off. Now, I'm going to do it. Thanks for the motivation.
I guess if the exhaust and intake are on the same side, heat is less of an issue. Mine are on opposite sides of the engine, and without adding heat the intake makes ice cubes.
Your design looks good. I have built many one and two carb setups for model B's. My single's were similar to your's. The two's used two single throats carbs from a Ford 6. No heat was required and the performance was excellent. I don't have the header any more but I still have the head pipe with the lakes plug and muffler bypass..No pic of that right now. I'm only an hour and a half from you, stop by sometime. (Elbe)
here's a pic of one I made for my champ style car, Its a one piece header/intake. I couldn't put a riser like yours on it due to body/cowl constrictions (hope it works?) but it's just a recreation for shows and such, not a driver ect. Paul
