I am in the process of removing the doors on my fordor body and am having trouble with both front doors. Both rears came off without too much trouble. I used the biggest Snap-On blade that I have with a 1/2" wrench on the shaft and they all popped loose. The fronts are giving me some difficulty. I tried the same screwdriver/wrench combo as well as an impact screwdriver with no luck. I also tried GM heat calve lube (it has gotten every other rusted bolt on this car loose) and wire brushing the heads of the screws to get the paint off of them. My next thought is to try either heat (map torch) or drill for easy outs, but wanted to get advice before I do. It just seems odd that all of the rears came out without any trouble and every one of the fronts is a pain, almost like I am overlooking something.
You could try tightning them a bit first, then undoing them.SOunds backward i know but it's worked for me.Sometimes running a drill through the centre can provide enough heat to remove them as well.
tightening first like beater said, seems to work alot of the time. mars brand rustbuster works great, better than any oil ive ever tried. heat works. if all else falis, drillem off
At the shop we heat and cool them three or four times then put the scrrewdriver in the slot and whack it a couple times and they almost always screw right out.
