VVV This pic is of a fuel dragster destroying a pair of slicks. I think that was Carl Lippold, the florist from Reading

Yup. Carroll and the boys did some updates a few years ago. He won the Jalopy Showdown in '07...Here are some shots from the '05 Geezers at the Grove when he was inducted into the Maple Grove Walk of Fame.

    Hey Modelacitizen,

My friend is restoring the Jack Merkel Willys, if you have any more photo's it would really help him out. He needs some interior shot's, he doe's not have any. If by chance you have some let me know.

    Thanks,

    Karpo

VVVAnother picture shows a pair of dragsters nearing the finish line with the one in the lead trailing some blue smoke. That is R. L. Peyton beating Larry Bucher of Bucher and Szabo (The Poachers). Bucher and Szabo had been Pa state champs, but R. L. Peyton was a colorful and determined racer with a very deep bag of tricks

VVV The red and white dragster being push-started is Tommy Ivo's famous "Giraffe" car. The guy pushing him with the Cadillac is "Big Bamboo", Ivo's friend and touring companion.

I agree, brings back memories!! My father use to drag me to Maple Grove for the match races when I was a kid, always hated to go :D

My brother had a stick shift 409 Impala he would race sometimes, traded it for a Vega in the 70's. I keep reminding him how much it would be worth now . . .

    Thanks for posting the pics!!

Omg there are so many more. Thanks for all the encouragement. It takes a long time to scan them and resize them, then upload them. I'm glad you guys are enjoying them. I'll post a bunch more later this evening. (Working on the model A right now!)

More! Still at the Grove '68. If you look back through the pics I've been adding some commentary courtesy of my Uncle.
