Got a bit more done this weekend. Both doors are now repaired and hung.

Had to cut about 2" off the bottom




Folded up some new pieces

 

Also relocated the fuel filler. I am keeping the pontiac badges on the rear quaters so I made one hinge open, cut up and modified the stock hinge.
Its was actually my sons idea to put it there.

What other makes of grilles fit into these 53 Pontiacs?? Without a ton of work. 54 Chevy? Curious, Ive got a 53 too, and need to get rid of the stocker.

A bit more progress last week, all the rust is now repaired just the front end to sort now

Got the inner wings painted and fitted now.



stripped the paint of one of the front wings and found another bad repair. Looks like it had quite a big smack, its creased right up. I think it will be easier to cut it all out and make up a new piece.

Can I tell you something? Not that you really give a shit but I hate candy apple red! But I absolutely love candy apple red on your car!!!!!!!!! I haven't liked that color in many years until now.

Doing it all myself. The paint is HOK candy basecoat so its not to bad to apply
