Mine ran along side the tank, went thru the spring and ended on the side behind the rear wheel. But , I've seen em run under the tank.

The poly tanks will melt. I've seen a couple tanks melted through. The exhaust pipes were about an inch from it. Fab up a heat shield or see if there is a different route to go with your tailpipes.

Ditto on seeing them melt. I can recall several years ago my dad getting a Dodge Ramcharger that had the poly tank that caught on fire from the tank melting.

Absolutely will melt. With so many reasonably prices steel and stainless steel tanks out there why run a poly tank?

The guy I got my chevy from had put a poly tank in it. The exhaust actually touched it. I caught it before it melted thru, but the tank has a big divot in it now.

  7. mines about 2" away...it runs up and over the rear end and then alongside the tank
